Best tool i bought so far...
.. atleast for oil changes.
For those of us with LT headers you know the clearance between the Oil Filter and the collctor is tight. I bought a Cup Style filter wrench at walmat for about $6. You need the 93mm - 15 flute one. I used to use a strap wrench, but it was a PIA. This one hooks to a 3/8" ratchet and fits the LT1 filter great, even the FRAM with the black grippy goo on them. I found a set of 10 wrenches at sears.com for $40. IMHO a great deal if you DIY you oil and have a bunch of different cars.

I am sure most of us old timers have seen these type of filter wrenchs, but I thought I would throw it up here for the ppl that did not know about them. Will work great even with out LT headers in the way.
Here is what one looks like

I've always just used a belt. Only one car that that method hasn't worked on. A '66 Mustang with a inline 6 that had been sitting for years. Ended up hammering a screwdriver through the filter and getting it out that way.

I used to use Fram filters on my Formula. I loved the grip thing they had on them!

is it just me or i don't muscle man my shit on there. the oil filter shouldn't have to be pryed off everytime you take it off. it just needs to be goodntight. i can get mine off by hand just about everytime...
