Hey guys, up for sale is my 97 SS. I took a lot of time to consider this and have come to the conclusion that it is the right move for me at this time. I'm selling the car to get into something a bit more gas friendly as well as get a bit more space for my family. I'm totally open to all offers as long as they aren't low ball. This is already a fantastic price, it's priced to move. Literally.

The car has 117,000 on it. I have babied this car every day since it hit 80K miles. Oil changes on the reg, preventative maintenance on the reg, tire rotation on the reg, tune up's on the reg. This car has been treated like an absolute princess. I put the exhaust on, solely for tone. This car has never been to a race track, ever.

I have my eyes on a couple of cars and would love for this to move quickly. I'm a motivated seller and will work with a potential buyer every step of the way!!!

On to the details!

I'm sure there are some details I'm forgetting about. This car has been maintained exclusively by Paul at Bridgeview Car Care, in Bridgeview, IL. I just had brand new Good Year tires mounted and balanced at Sears auto in Joliet. The tires have about 100 miles on them. While it was being serviced for tires at sears, I went ahead and had them change out the tie rods, and some other front suspension parts.

The pictures show a double din touch screen radio with a custom made bezel. I still have the bezel and radio, but they are not included in this sale. I can include them for an additional cost at the buyers request.

If anyone has any questions, please email, PM, call, or text anytime. As I said earlier, I'm motivated to move this car. Thanks for your interest!

So I have recently come to a MAJOR crossroads with my car. I love my SS to death, however I feel like it's time for me to move on. In a perfect world I could go buy a new car and keep the SS as a toy. I just don't have the space for it, and I really need the money from it being sold for a down payment on a new car. I almost kind of want to get rid of it. I've spent so much money on it, that I kinda just want to close that chapter and be away from it. It's a great fun car for sure, but I want something more modern. It's a 97 for crying out loud!

I'm currently torn between the new 2011 Jeep grand Cherokee's and the 2011 Camaro SS. I really want the Camaro, for obvious reasons. But I can't help but want the Jeep as well. The interior is one of the biggest aspects of the new car game for me right now. I really want something comfortable and modern. I want a touch screen radio, I want dual zone climate. The Jeep is 4 wheel drive, and has great seating and cargo room. The camaro would pretty much just be an updated version of what I already have. Which is why I'm really on the fence here. If I drop my car, I want to replace it with something of equal value and fun. Don't get me wrong the Jeep is equal value, but I'd basically get the entry level grand cherokee. But If I go with the Camaro it would be fully loaded for the same price.

So what does a guy do? I'm positive I'm going to sell my car. But where do I go from there? I don't want to go another ten years with a stiff ride, 2 seater. (Let's be real folks, the camaro is 4 seats, but nobody goes on a roadtrip in the back of one of those!) I want to be able to drive in the winter climate, comfortably and without much worry. I can't go a block in my car in the snow. I want to be able to go on a roadtrip, comfortably and not have to stop every 20 miles for gas.

Sigh. What to do.

I bought a 94 camaro the other day as a parts car. I've decided to part it out and grab what I want off it and sell the rest. Hopefully I'll break even...It has a lot of good parts but whoever had it before really "half assed some stuff" especially the cold air intake...dryer hose...wtf? But seriously, it's a pretty solid car with only 101k miles so I should probably be able to get my money back. Plus the red/gray seats out of it look awesome in my car lol. Now if I can just get my g/f off my ass long enough to work on it >.> She's frustrating but I can't help but love her...well...first entry over haha...

When Microsoft announced the free beta program for Windows 7, SoulReaver and I were quick to jump in and mess with the new OS. after being with the beta since the launch, the time has finally come where Windows will stop working for free in 10 days. I was fortunate enough to get two upgrade discs from my mother in law who has a university connection. Soul, on the other hand, not so much. At any rate, the discs arrived today and I have to being the arduous task of backing everything up and then re-installing windows. In theory, I could put in a new product key and just continue on with the beta, but the beta had an astounding number of bug fixes from the point of my installation to the release of the new OS.

Windows 7 has definitely been an amazing OS so far. I supported Vista, I didn't have the crazy errors other users were having. I actually thought it was a decent release, although it should have probably been a service pack in hindsight. Windows 7 is faster in every aspect and to this day, even on the betas, I have yet to have a random restart or some weird error screen. Now with the launch of Windows Phone 7 Series, I am starting to get excited at what Microsoft is doing. Let's face it, they have tons and tons and tons of money and for some reason they just kept putting out shit after shit release. It seems like they finally decided that releasing mundane products is putting them behind in the race. I'm glad the giant woke up, especially with Google becoming self-aware lately.

These next few years are going to be exciting if you are a tech junky. For now though, I have a fight ahead of me with this re-installation of Windows 7.

Sometimes when creating a new image, design, logo, etc.. It's cool to take some time out of the work and create a little photo album. What I've done is chronicled the start and finish of my process for the new logo for LTX Tech. I started out initially with a rough, very rough sketch. I doodled it out while I was at work, nothing better to do I suppose :p

This article is going to start with my doodle from Monday November 30th, 2009. Hope you guys enjoy!!

Monday November 30th, 2009:

This image is the mock-up, doodle drawing I made. I needed a rough Idea to begin with, and most times, at least for myself, I like to attempt to draw out what I'm going to design.

So as you can see, this was penned, really quickly. I think I did this in like 1 minute flat. Lol.

I took a picture with my phone, then emailed it to myself so I could open it with photoshop.

Tuesday December 1st, 2009

The night before I didn't do any work on the logo at all. At work, I made another mock-up. I like this one better :)

Wednesday December 2nd, 2009

This day, I began working on the actual design of the logo. Basically at this stage, everything is a place holder, plus rough Idea. Here is the image after about 4 hours of work. Mostly pen tool here. The letters are pen tool as well as the needle, orb for the needle, and overall shape to the emblem.

The orange colored "High RPM's" were just there as a general idea. I simply had those in place for positioning of the needle.

Later that night, I fought with myself and spoke with Russell, "phantomzer0", about the actual use of the RPM idea. We decided to see the result of not having it. This is the result:

As you can see, it is super plain. It still could have came out amazing at the end, but I decided I really liked the idea of the tach.

This battle between "to-have or not to-have" ended my work for the night. I decided I needed to get some sleep at this point.

Thursday December 3rd, 2009

I got a nice jump on the logo in the morning and afternoon. I got in about an hour and a half in, but it was spread out across the morning. I never sat down for more than 10 minutes at a time. I just had too much to do that day. Here are the results from the morning and afternoon work:

As you can see, I decided to add the tach back in. At this point it is again an ideation. I decided if I was going to follow through with it, I should do it right from start to finish. The first order of business was the gauge surround. The circular part of the steel bezel. At first it was pen tooled very very roughly. I went through and added a circle by the use of the elipse tool. Boom. I also fixed the half circle on the bottom, where the needle is.

I also went ahead and did the final shading of the needle. At this point I was convinced the needle looked great, which it sort of does. Lol.

The circle that holds the needle also received it's final shading during this day's work.

I didn't get a chance that night after work, to work on the logo. I got drafted for some over time and didn't get out till 2am. Normally I wrap up my nights design work around 2. I skipped the design and went to bed.

I take that back, I sat down and made about 2 minutes of changes before I realized I needed sleep. Here is the update from that night:

This update included the final shape of the needle, the T was corrected to have correct proportion and angle, relative to the L. I also added some minor shading to the bezel.

Friday December 4th, 2009

This was a HUGE day in terms of the development of this logo. I started out before work with the beginning of the tach. I decided to finally tackle this and attempt to knock it out before work.

As you can see, the spokes came off looking metallic. I sort of thought it would look cool if it was integrated into the bezel. After much deliberation on it, I decided against it. They just didn't flow with the design.

I didn't touch the logo again till I got home from work around 10. In all actuality when I sat down, I took another look at those spokes and thought I could make them work. Well, an hour later, I just couldn't come up with anything. I tried everything under the sun, but the results were all dismal.

I don't know what I thought to get me to the next stage of this logo. I think I thought about a loading screen from my phone. When you open something or there is a process loading in the Android OS, a little circle rotates. It starts white and slowly has a gradient. so the image just rotates and it looks like its in motion, due to the gradient. I adopted this concept into my logo for the RPM/Tach. I just started with a really bright red, and faded it to BLACK. Black as hell. The stark contrast looked pretty cool, I thought. Then I took the eraser and, with my favorite technique, set that bitch to half opacity, super huge brush size, and soft edges. I took down the opacity of the RPM/Tach with just a few clicks, to make it appear as it the RPM/Tach was integrated into the logo.

After some tweaks to the bezel and newly added RPM/Tach, The logo is finished.

LTXTech 2.0 has officially been online for a full day now. There are a ton of changes that you guys have noticed, most of them are good and some aren't necessarily bad, but a new approach to things that may have been familiar to you. We had to disable all of our modifications that we've accumulated over the past year and a half, leading to some features missing. Those features certainly didn't make the site, but they are missed as they made things comfortable. We are working towards getting all of our old features back and also working on getting some new stuff implemented. Already, with the new version of vBulletin, you will notice improvements to many areas. Many of our old add-ons are now standard parts of vBulletin, which is great in the sense that there is no worry about them breaking something behind the scenes. Also take note of the newly revamped Member Profile and Group pages. Although these areas are still "under construction" for our forum, they are much more rounded out than in previous releases of vBulletin.

I also want to talk about some other changes we've made to LTXTech. Obviously the first thing that stands out immediately when you load the site is the new logo. SoulReaver is going to be uploading his work-log so you guys can see the progression he made from the beginning. It's a cool little writeup he did and is definitely worth the read, once the hump posts it of course. The logo is going to be replacing the old logo. Old stickers will be phased out for the new ones and we will begin selling badges, made by Emblem Pros. The emblems are very nice and will look awesome anywhere you put them. The cost of the emblems is not finalized and when it is we will make an announcement.

We also want to begin producing gear. Hats, T-Shirts, etc. Our delay was always pending upon the fact that we knew we wanted to rework our current logo. The timeline for that was unknown, but then a golden egg dropped. The release of vBulletin 4 was an opportunity for us to re-work some of the things we had felt were lacking on the original LTXTech as well as usher in the new logo. We were able to get a test site up and running and got most of the work for LTX 2.0 was completed on that test bed. Launching the new site will allow us to focus on the merchandise everyone has been wanting. Everything should look awesome with the new logo!

Now that the forum is up, and the loose ends are being tied up, I want everyone to just kind of relax and bear with me while I finish moving everything over and get the mods re-installed. It'll be a bit of time, but just like when the original LTXTech launched, it will be a gradual progression.

Thank you all for sticking with us, we value every registered user and every minute spent here. The community here is truly the backbone of the community.
