Alright, that's it for me tonight. I'll be pecking away as much as I can. I just wanted to get the bulk of the work done, as my schedule is about to explode.
Be sure to keep posting things you guys notice for me and SoulReaver to assess. It really helps.

But other than that it looks awesome. Keep up the good work. If you ever need any suggestions/help, feel free to let me know.

It'll be back. A ton of our mods were written by other forum owners, so for those we have to wait for them to be updated. Everything we had will make a return.

My wife had an Anterior Cervical Discetomy, a frontal fusion, and was just diagnosed with type 2 lymphoma cancer all in the last 2 weeks. I just won't have the time otherwise to get it up, so it was essentially a now or never thing for me last night. If I need anything, I'll contact you for sure if I can use your help, which may actually be sooner than later. Thanks.

It may be just me, but the color scheme just seems off. Didn't we have custom thread buttons before? Anyway, the color scheme is just killing my eyes for some reason, the bit ones being quoted boxes and anything that horrible blue-grey shaded color.

Are you sure you are on the right skin? The carbon skin should be what you see. It's almost exactly verbatim the old skin, save some minor changes due to the overall layout being different.
The quote box is a temporary fix so that text is readable, I can always make it darker, but remember that the old skin had yellow quote boxes, so the darker color is new. I don't see this horrible blue-grey shaded color either, which leads me to believe you might be on the default skin.
We did have custom buttons, but all buttons you see are all generated by CSS and HTML, so swapping them out for images would be a pain. Plus, the forum will load text (CSS and HTML) much quicker than an image, so using text build buttons is much more efficient for the site.

There is a mobile version. If you have an iPhone, Android OS, or a Nokia phone, you can get an application called Tapatalk which will render the forum natively. It's very nice and free for all phones except the iPhone.
Until we get some mobile styles going, this is the best alternative.

Custom admin background reinstalled! I wrote that mod and it took me like 1.5 hours to rewrite it for vBulletin 4. I hope it's my relatively low level of knowledge that took that long, otherwise it's gonna be some time for the bigger mods to be recoded......

Phantom - I did notice this. When I use Web Developer (firefox extension) to resize my Firefox Window to 1024x768 resolution (this would be full screen on a computer with that monitor resolution) it looks like this:
http://i49.tinypic.com/29w4q6b.jpg
A quick glance at the code and I think you simply need to knock off about 30 pixels on either the left logo or right logo then it should fix beautiful. You could also set a min-width (css) for the header div and make them have to scroll left-right a little bit. Hope this helps, brother. :)

I know you weren't, just was clarifying my earlier statement. I meant that I'm use to only going live when it is working 110%. In a nonprofit online community it's not a issue to have a few small flaws, especially given your circumstances.
I wish you guys the best of luck, I lost 2 of my grandparents to lung cancer, and I have a friend who's dad has had a off and on fight with cancer (I forget which form, I think he might be completely over it now though :face_shocked:)

Holy crap dude. That's effed up. I don't even know know what half of what that is, but I hope all works out for you and your wife.
She was suffering from extreme neck pain. It got to the point where she started loosing control of her arms and couldn't go to the bathroom. We took her to get an MRI, were told to go see a neurosurgeon immediately, got shoved to the ER, and then found out she had a huge abscess eeating away discs C4 and C5. She had a 10% chance to come out of surgery ok and a 90% chance to come out paraplegic. She came out, moved all of her extremeties and completely defied the odds. She is a walking miracle in the sense that she had a shread of hope to come out of the surgery alright and she did. So, after two weeks of hospital stay and another surgery to fuse the new stuff together in her neck, we found out that the abscess was a tumor caused by Type B Lymphoma cancer. She was diagnosed with Type B Lymphoma Cancer and now we have to seek treatment for that. She has a very good chance at making a full recovery in 6 months, but we might loose our baby from it. She's 19 weeks pregnant.
So, all in all, the last two weeks have been the absolute worst time of my life and I will never, ever wish this upon even the most hated of enemies. It's complete hell and God willing, she'll make it through everything alright.
And now you guys know why I haven't talked too much about it. That's like 50% of the story too, there's so much bullshit from Doctor;s and other shit that I just found it easier to focus on working on the forum, kind of to take my mind off of it for a little bit. Luckily, she's sitting here next to me watching Old School, feeling pretty damn good considering. She has to wear a neck brace for 3 months, which is about the time it takes for a bone fusion to complete.
For what it's worth, anyone in the Chicagoland Area that needs a Neurosurgeon for any reason, please do what you can to get in touch with Doctor Tamir Hersonesky. He's a fucking Legend after what he did to my wife; he saved he life, literally and I would recommend him to anyone, anywhere, anytime. He's a great person, but more importantly a fucking awesome surgeon.
Phew....

you might also set a min-width for that div. It still loads like that screenshot for 800x600. Not that I feel bad for people with 800x600 resolutions, but just an idea. :)

Honestly, people looking at the forum at that low of a resolution should be banned from the internet. I'm pretty sure new computers don't even let you go that low anymore.

Tell me about it. I was using BBR's Image Resizer on our forum and it worked well for everyone except one guy that was on 800x600 resolution. He was vocal about it so I switched to using the CSS Image Resize modification that's in the Template Modifications section - works pretty good and bases the size of the image off of the width of the div rather than a hardcoded pixel width.
In any case - from one early vb4 upgrader to another - you've done good work! I'm excited to use the postbit legacy background mod that you guys created but I've been trying to be careful and not use every mod you guys have on your site :hail: You guys do good work on here!
PS - the blue-gray color is still present when you get a permission denied page. For example, log out of the forum and then try to reply. You'll get the permission denied page - I think that's the blue color that was being mentioned earlier in the thread. :)

Actually it's the monitor that determines the resolution. While I agree with you, it's common courtesy to make a website that works equally well for all users. Adding alt descriptions to pictures for the visually impaired, for example.
That being said, I loaded up the website on my Cell Phone (320x240) and the header is off pretty bad.
Sure it's annoying to make exceptions for special case scenarios, but that's web design.

Forgot to add - to make USD the default on the paypal donation page go into the "bagis" template (no clue how they got that name) and then in the HTML you'll see the code for "EUR" selected, remove the "selected" part and put it in the USD. :)

Actually it's the monitor that determines the resolution.
That's true to a degree. My mother in law has a 25in LCD and she insists on running it in 800 resolution while the native is much higher. Monitor or not, the end user still decides whether or not to adhere to the native resolution.
Also, the website will have a mobile style, like last time, with a slightly adjusted skin for mobile browsers. The header rendering goofy on your phone now will be fixed later when we get there.
