I boguht a 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula with 70k miles on it like a week and a half ago, it failed inspection for an evap sensor code, I took it back because they guaranteed it to pass NJ state inspection, so they replaced the purge solenoid. The day after I got it back the next morning I go to start it the light comes back on. I get pissed and then tell them it came back on, I take another 40 minute drive and I pull in there with the light on turn it off and re-start it the light stays on, they pull it into the garage and 20 minutes later after having it hooked up to an emssions tester and obd 2 scanner they tell me there was no codes at all whatsoever and i tell them the light was JUST on yada yada, they tell me that it wasn't so i leave and i told them its going to come back on and that ill be back. Well anyway the inspection station also said my steering column was loose so they decide to tear it apart where i bought it and replace a lower bearing, and they messed up a wire to the ignition and had to get a new key pattern cut with the same chip and theyput it back together. Well the night that I got it back they didn't hook up my highbeam switch and the light was back on. well tonight, I went to get gas and the car wouldnt start and the securtylight was flashing and needless to say NEITHER of my two newly cut keys work. So now all i want is my god damn money back for this car i just bought because its a piece of crap, since they touched it. What can i do to try to get my money back, i took a loan out for this car also.

I don't know what to do im so pissed right now, i told the guy to pay for a tow truck to come pick it up and that im not paying for it and that it can sit and rot till it gets fixed.

If you signed a contract and its over 24 hrs. your stuck with it. The dealer dont care if it sits and rots cause your on the hook for the $ to the bank. It will only hurt you. Sorry to hear about this. Look into buying a ext. service contract. GMPP major guard would be the best option. As far as the dealer, if they fixed it, and its still messed up, i hope they would repair it again for no charge. Tell the sales manager and owner and shop manager you will spread your bad experience in every local paper and radio station if the wont.
Good luck,
Nick
p.s. if you want to know the cost of the gmpp plan let me know. I work at a gm dealer and have the cost books.
