The proram I believe is a 4barrel intake which will work alot better than a single plane with an elbow.

they are both single plane intakes, and both can be used with either a 4bbl TB, or an air elbow with TB. lloyd elliott said to use the elbow wth TB. im just merely trying to see what others have used and what works the best...

On either one you will most likely want to have some port work done to the intake. I wouldn't leave out the edelbrock supervic. A lot of the head porters are recommending the supervic over all the other sbc intakes I see.

no offense to anyone who runs the supervic intake, i am by no means a fan of anything edelbrock puts out. the few parts ive tried to use from them in the past have only given me trouble, and my friends as well, so i stay clear of them. have a buddy that runs the Pro Ram and he likes it, but ive recently found that FAST makes a single plane EFI and am curious what people think of it....

No problem. But from the people I have talked to that build big power combo's they all seem to tell you to go with a supervic. I've seen noone recommend those two or the intake that I have for that matter. Not saying you are going to have problems with either of them. Just sayin depending on what your trying to build you may be leaving some power on the table.

My previous intake (just took off last month) was an Edelbrock Victor EFI and it worked very well. I now have a Edelbrock Super Vic that I am working up to install on my new heads. As far as the two you mentioned I am sure they will work fine.

I believe GMPP has an intake for lt1s to put a carb on them. Just a thought

thanks tony, im gonna have lloyd elliott port the runners to match the heads when he does my head/cam package. am really thinking about using the FAST. lloyd recommended it, and is slightly cheaper than the accell.

do not want to go to a carb. fuel injection is so much better to deal with.

Would you wanna sell the victor? Is it drilled or are your heads drilled?

every build is going to be different...maybe the intake he is recommending is a good choice for his set up..i doubt this is an all out racer..id say the fast unit,,with a fast 4150 4bbl(which out flows a mono blade by about 100-200 cfm,,with no fitment issues with the cowl or hood))...those 4bbl from fast look sick too....but thats my opinion
T.Shep is running with the big boys,,i would say he has some real nice heads bolted up(would love to get my hands on them)..now if im not mistaken,,isnt the super vic taller than the vic jr? should give you some more punch

I somewhat agree with you here. Edelbrock makes TONS of marginally-to-decently effective stuff. For a great quantity of the items they make, you can usually find a better piece made by someone else. Some items that come to mind are their carburetors, torker intakes, headers, cat-backs, etc, etc..
However..................
They do make a FEW items that are time and time again proven to be amazing. The Performer RPM intake is one of them and the Super Vic is another. You will find the Super Vic intake under a lot of hoods at the dragstrip, and the Performer RPM is probably THE BEST intake manifold ever designed for a high-performance street use vehicle.

Im working on building my turbo engine as we speak and havent gone with a head/intake combo yet. Last LT1 i built people werent really using SB intakes, only LT1 and LT4 (shows what happens when you finish your build and stop trolling forums) Im assuming people are using SB1 Heads to go with the intake. What needs to be done to get the heads to work and to make the carbed intake accepet the fuel injectors? also who sells the elbow for the carbed intake with throttle body? Sorry to noob up your thread. :)

Just taking the intake itself and having the bolt pattern redone.

You are better off having the heads re-drilled though.
