I just got around to installing the HID kit into my car today and they weren't working (they worked when I put it on my buddies car). I the noticed that there is no fuses nor wiring in the relay box for the F&R headlights (so that is the cause of it not working in my car :(). I'm going to order a relay kit for it but what type of bulbs are these, 9006?

Also do you guys Speed Inc sell a relay kit for the 93-97 HID kit?

Thanks

there is no relay kit needed

try reversing the connector to the lights since we ave seen this at times...so basically unplug and plug in backwards

So I should connect the stock wire to the ballast backwards, or the wires that go to the lightbulb backwards?

Speed Inc.
02-22-2010, 03:32 PM
at the bulb

Kaganader
02-22-2010, 03:38 PM
Well that worked putting in the wire that goes to the ballast backwards. I wonder why it needs to go in backwards tho ?_?

Kaganader

at the bulb

the wires did not want to stay in switching them at the bulb so I did the ballast which stayed in snuggly

I'm not sure either, but we ran across this a couple times.

the reason you have to switch them is b/c halogens aren't polarity sensitive but gm wired them "backwards" from other manufacturers that use the 9006 bulb. HID bulbs however are polarity sensitive so you have to flip the connector over. I just installed my HID's today, and they look awesome! Literally took 15 min per side, and probably 5 min was trying to get the retainer ring for the housing to seat right. literally a plug and play system. i'll take pics of where i mounted the ballast. i wish i could've mounted them in the same place on each side, but there was a plastic bracket on the driverside that wouldn't let me get the wires through.

here's a teaser, keep in mind it was taken with a phone and they aren't aimed at all, and its on jackstands in the front. oh yeah this is a 35w 6000k kit

I'm no light expert, so thanks for the info.

I need to get in the garage and get my car together as well as put my kit on, but instead hitting the slopes today and next weekend. The car will then get attention again.
