It's the lowest part of my exhaust (with a cutout, surprising, no?) ... it's a Pacesetter... just curious if anyone else's hangs this low. I can't even see my roommates LS1's y pipe from the side, but walking up to my car even lowered I can see the y pipe and its like 2 inches off the ground.. maybe. Is there a better brand of y pipe that fits better?

mine does the same thing.. I even cut the Y and bent it up and re-welded it. It didnt seem to do much. I scrape on that spot. I guess it is part of the game.. LOL

Here's a quick comparison... I saw this picture at the top of the homepage and looked at his engine and looked like he had headers of some sort (long tubes maybe.. AZ2ENVY)? His is nice and tucked up. I'm thinking about going mids...

I have like 2 7/8 in clearance with my long tubes and on sportlines. The y-pipe is definitely not the lowest part of mine, its tucked up there pretty nice.

My car is lowered with LTs and a hooker Y and my lowest spot is 2 3/8" from the ground. Average, I'd say no more than 3" across the entire y-pipe.

Maybe my pipe is just fucked up, or all Pacesetters are. Why can't they just build one on a car and make it work instead of tossing us these crappy pre-fab y pipes.

I've had enough exhaust nightmares to last me.. about 2 months.

Will a local shop weld one up for you? I really don't have any complaints about fitment on my hooker.

Yeah it might end up costly. I figure if I have to get a custom y pipe built for ground clearance i'll go all out and build a badass true dual system custom bent and welded for ground clearance.

Will the hooker Y pipe fit pacesetters?

I'm not sure. I run Jet-Hot headers.

My Kooks y-pipe tucked up pretty good. And I STILL scrape it. Just barely on the driver side though.

How does that scrape? That's at least 3 1/2" on the drivers side...

Just a couple pics I found from the past. Not a whole lot of clearance eh? I have yet to drag it into a driveway, or on a speed bump or anything, though.

I don't mind as long as everything is smooth. Friggin lip on the cutout makes me tighten my asshole up over every steep entrance. I have no problems with occasionally scraping as long as it doesn't possibly mean that I will rip my entire exhaust off just trying to get into a walgreens or something.

Yours actually doesn't look bad at all for TD's... maybe I just have shitty luck and got a low hanging batch of Pacesetters/Y pipe.

I have a LOT of upwards pressure against mine where I have it welded to the car in the rear. My y pipe is crammed up against my floorboard so tight that it doesnt even have room to squeak or make weird grumbly noises from any movement it might have.

I have long tube pace setters run to a Y-pipe we made at the shop using 3" and a flowmaster "Y" conector.

I may have pics, but either way, mine hangs LOW also..

I was considering the dumped bullet off the y pipe as well. I'm gonna head to my buddies next time in town and see if he can work some magic and get the y pipe welded up closer to the floorboards.
