I'm driving down the road with the windows down, as usual, and as I'm pulling into McDonald's parking lot it starts raining. So I start rolling up the window and it goes halfway and stop...dubya tee eff? I pull through the drive thru (thank god the rain was coming from the passenger side so too much water didn't get in) and I try it again and it goes a little further and stops. After trying it three or four times it finally goes up. A couple minutes later the rain stops and I get to school. I roll the window down and it goes all the way, the first time, but when I try to roll it up it does the same thing as before. Is this the window motor going out, or some other problem?

I took mine to a auto glass shop and they replaced both motors and the driver side track which was twisted from a previous motor replacement. It was about 130.00$.

I just replaced mine about a month ago. Bought new motor at autozone 57.00 with a lifetime warranty. The change out wasn't too bad. I did a little research on this and found out that GM sends 10-11 volts to the driver side switch then splits that with the passenger switch. So when you roll both windows down at the same time there is only 4-5 volts running the motors and they are designed to run on 10. That is why they burn up. There are 3 rivots holding motor in place. Just locate where they are at and drill a 1/2 inch hole through the inner panel to get to them. Then drill the rivets out. Make sure you hold up the window with boards through the opening before drilling rivets. I took my speaker out and went through that opening to change motor. Its not bad once you get in there and see whats going on. Good luck.
