So ive been looking for a body and stuff for my build 93-97 firebird or camaro. Well ive found some awesome deals like a 95 z28 nice complete body and interior for 300. But then today i was looking and found a 1997 camaro z28 has lt1 motor has a 6 speed trans, has been sitting for 4 months says something is wrong with the motor (dont care i have one), has nice leather interior in excellent condition. car is silver with t tops nice paint no dents or dings. the problem is it doesnt have a title, how hard is it to get a title and how long would it take if i can? the car is super cheap... would it be possible to buy another camaro with a title and swap the vins and stuff? i know ppl do that with older cars alot. thanks in advance!

when you say "no title" is it because they lost it or because they never paid the car off and the repo man never found it?

this is what he says about the title....

"What happened was a friend owned me money so he could not find title so I was going to use the parts on that car to build my other camaro up but i sold that car & bought a mustang, so now the camaro is sitting at my friends shop"

I would find out why they doesnt have the title first. Their answer is probibly going to be "Because I lost it", but just make sure the car is actually their first and doesnt belong to someone else like the bank or something. I'd also check for a lein on it.

Its not that hard to get a new title for it as long as its his car and the bank doesnt own it. It sounds kinda sketchy to me though.

Make him get the title for it first then go from there. If he owns the car, it shouldnt be hard for him. It may take a few weeks, but it would be less head aches on your end.

****Didnt read your response listed above***
- I'd pass on this one. It sounds like its going to be one giant head ache. As stated above, make him get the title for it. If he doesnt want to, keep looking because I predict nothing but problems. I'd also do a carfax on it if you are still interested. This whole thing just sounds really sketchy.

havent had much luck with that really, the motor needs a crank, the crank had a issue with the snout so i pulled it to replace never did the engine was only broke in then shut off never finished the project. it comes compete everything it needs to run even the accesorys and radatior which is new and 3 holley carbs. 2 accell distributors, dart iron heads 2.05 1.60 valve 215cc 64 cc, harland sharp roller rockers high rise intake. 306dur 565lift hyd flat tapped cam dome pistons scat rods 4 bolt main berrings look brand new. im just not really sure what its worth i droped over 5k on it 2 or 3 year ago an just let it sit
