I'm planning out my exhaust system, I'm trying to do true duals 3" all the way to the back. In my previous cars the standard 3 bolt flange would warp after a while and leak, or the gasket would burn out. I would end up changing it every couple of months. THis time i wanted to do it right...or better. Has anyone put on Vband clamps? I have pacesetter LTs and I have to weld on my own collectors anyways. Or is there another option I'm over looking? oh i have a welder and I'm getting...decent at welding.

I say go for it. I know the old FLP headers had v-band clamps for the flanges.

i have pacesetters and 3" v-bands. After building and owning a couple turbo cars ill never use a flanged exhaust on anything again

Do you need the system to be slip on so you can use the Vband clamps?

I wanted to be able to remove it when i need to, so slip on, bolt on, what ever just not pipe welded to collector. I thought a v-band set up would make it a better seal than the standard 3bolt collector flange, and not burn out as much. Is this a good choice? what is better for a NA car with LTs.
