I'm done:( Wont have the car for the Shootout.While working on it today it lost oil pressure no doubt it spun a bearing:censored: I dont have the drive left in me to rush and get everything pulled apart and to the shop to repair it in time. This engine has all of 40 minutes of idle time on it !!!!! This should not happen.The shortblock was built by Wheel to Wheel in Detroit which is now gone so I have no recourse and have to eat the whole thing. Fuck cars!!!!!!!

WTF happened to Wheel to Wheel? I thought they had a killer shop, highly reputable, ect.

Very sorry to hear that Chris, with cars there are always good times and bad times. Im kind of in the same boat, my car has a major electrical short that can be figure out yet.

Damn Chris! Hate to see this. I hate for you to not make the shootout. Don't let that keep you from fixing the problem soon and hitting the track sometime this summer. You have come too far to give up on it. Drop the pan real quick and replace the rod bearings!

That sucks, sorry to hear about that. I hoped to see your car at the shootout. Maybe if you don't completely give up this year I can see it at a track later in the season. I know on a personal note most of what I do to my car always seems to be rushed. Which is not a good thing.

I know we will get it fixed, but prior to the shootout, dyno and track testing just isn't going to happen.

W2W itself went under because of High dollar projects and not daily sales. Kurt Urban (partial owner and engine builder of W2W) now runs his own place by himself, Kurt Urban Performance.

Well the elves have been busy today...........I dont know what has gotten in to me but I hope to have the engine out tommorow night.I got almost everything ready to go just need to remove the convertor and unbolt the tranny .I talked to Larry and he has been in touch with the engine builder and he is ready for it. Wish us luck!!!! 33 days and counting:(

Man, sorry to hear. Hope you can make it for the shootout.
I'm almost in the same situation, mine had a low oil pressure prob, so I pulled the pan and found a loose pickup tube, trashed main bearings, and a trashed crank. I found all this just two weeks ago, So I'm scrambling to have mine ready for the shootout too. It's just me and a few of my friends working to make it happen.

Any news or progress??
Most people dont know but i trashed mine last Wednesday. I took it to PPE on Thursday, 8 pistons were ordered , 2 new rods, 2 sleeves , and heads were sent off to get fixed. As of today, block had been sleeved ( only one cylinder thankfully ) , deck milled, ready to be honed. Rods are here, pistons anyday now, Heads are in Houston getting welded up. Short block should be back together by next Friday.
I know it sucks i'm there too, but it can be done, just keep the motivation and credit card handy.

sleeves, 2 Eagle rods, fix heads, valves, valve job, all the machine work, gaskets, build engine, degree cam all the usual bs

I talked to Chris at the Speedinc open house, and things dont look good for the shootout. Just not enough time to finish and test.
Just got back from the engine builder :(mostly torn down now still no obvious problem. Going to finish the complete disassembling tommarow and hope to see something. Otherwise it will get a new pump/ bearings and hope for the best.:cry: F&*KIN CARS
