Im connecting the wiring harness on my LT1 swap. Im a lil confused by shoeboxs website. I see where the long PCM ground goes, but where do all the grounds a few inches above it go? Thanks guys.

On Shbox's 1995 Z28 A4 Engine Harness picture ( http://shbox.com/1/harness.htm ) do you know which grounds those match? I can't tell from the pic what grounds they match on Shbox's diagram but if you know on his diagram which grounds those are I can tell you where they went. I can't tell if that's the grounds by the knock sensor or the grounds for the coil.

Looking at it some more - it looks like your picture is the coil grounds.

Here's a picture of the coil and the grounds:

The coil is on the driver's side of the engine block and bolt directly to the head. Those grounds go on a stud that should be there for the coil and then a nut should tighten down over the grounds.

OH! That ground! That long ground will go over to the engine bay's frame. There will be a bolt (or maybe just a hole in your case with the bolt missing?) right around the engine bay harness (not the engine harness) where the big 3" diameter harness T's off for your fan wiring and goes into the front bumper. If you are standing at the fender next to your driver's side wheel, reach over the fuse box and you'll see the harness running front to back by the shock tower, then it goes to the fuse box and continues on towards the front bumper, and it T's off to go to the radiator fans. The bolt will be on the SIDE of the frame that the harness runs along. If I remember correctly, there should be another ground wire already there. There's also another ground that bolts up right by the headlight and I removed the ground from that bolt and put it into the same bolt as the long ground wire you're talking about and the ground wire that I think was already there.

Let me see if I can dig up a picture - if not, I can take a picture tonight when I get home and post it. I did a '94 v6 to '95 LT1 swap so I'm mildly familiar with all of this but I learned so much it's hard to remember it now! Haha :D

Sweet thanks Meissen! Am I correct that the LONG ground next to it is the PCM ground? And it goes on the drivers side of the block, instead of the passengerside like the 95's do?

I'm getting ready to leave class and head home so I'll snap a pic when I get home. It's worth documenting anyway. :D

Here's a quick paint-shop of where the ground should be. There will be a hole on the side of the frame somewhere inside that oval.

Edit: Saw you know what I'm talking about - glad I can help! :D

So I talked to my dad and apparently the 1995 OEM Service Manual says the ground is suppose to bolt in behind the headlight. Picture #4 is a picture of the bolt that is *suppose* to be the ground spot.

And unfortunately, I didn't realize how hard it is to get a picture of this ground now that the engine is in! The small black wire that you can see coming out of the harness and going towards the side of the frame is going straight to the ground spot. In the first picture you can just barely make out the rusty bolt head.

Shouldn't hurt either way - a ground is a ground. :)
