Well i was at a car show yesterday and saw the first srt challenger sold in the area. Some middle aged dude bought it and it is a very nice car. (orange and black). Well today i was cruising down the highway on my lunch break and spotted him going real slow in the right lane. I try to pass him b/c he is going slower than me and out of nowhere he hits it. By the time i can react while lighting my cigarette he is already ahead but i keep up. I then catch up to him after he lets off and he hits it again. Both times he hit it i wasnt really ready and had to start out behind him.
I actually kept up surprisingly and the distance between us stayed the same until about 110 and i began to pull closer to him. Im not sure if he let off or not so i cant say i was pulling him in.
I wasnt very impressed with this being mopars top dog in the "affordable" car class. Our local dodge dealership just got in 6 Rts with the 5.7 and they are priced at just over 40,000, im not sure how much he paid for the the srt though.

they're a waste of money, barely even sound like a muscle car and are pigs.. I know of trucks that weigh less than those

Id definitly drive one but i wouldnt pay over $30000 for one though. I also have a feeling they will probably be easy to mod, but i dont know much about the new hemi.

Nothing like keeping up with a $75k car in your $5k car.

They look good But they are slow and the new ZR1 is WAY BETTER.

I like the look of them a lot! But I really don't know why in Dodge's mind they thought it wise to make a sports car weigh 4000+lbs from the factory.
You can make anything fast though. Just because they are nothing impressive speed wise stock, doesn't mean modded they still can't be a monster. In another thread in this forum, there's details of how one of the new Challengers beat up on my Formula in my sig.
