I have been trying to figure this problem out for a while and today I finally sat down and put everything together (it was tore apart when I got the car 2 years ago LOL) But when I turn on the wipers they go down, up then back down. But when I turn them off they go back up and stop there.

Do I have a bad motor or is there something bent? I know on the Grand Prix's they have a problem with snow getting packed under the wipers and bending a stop, but what about the Fbodies?

Thanks in advance

It's an issue with the circuit board in the wiper motor, a lot of GM cars have issues with it, mine has done that since the first day I got it. Some people have resoldered the connection on the board and fixed it, others just replace it. This is what the part looks like, search for them on e-bay or where ever, bunch for sale. I think you may need to take the hood off to fix it, dont quote me on that

Thanks man, thats not really what I wanted to hear but I appreciate it the info.

I found a couple on ebay for under $30 shipped so I'll wait and see how that pans out, rather than paying $80 for one from autozone

Hmm I wonder if anyone has a pic of where they soldered it onthe circuit board?

I have never done it, but I imagine you just take the motor apart and expose the circuit board, look for bad connections?

Assuming it's the same (looks VERY similar), here's a quick and dirty how to I did awhile ago...

Although, mine simply worked when they wanted to.... they never stayed up. Usually, they worked if I smacked them, or slammed the hood. Which was kinda dodgy... almost scratched up the back edge of the hood a couple times :D
