From exhaust manifolds back to the black rectangle tips my exhaust is all factory. I want to do the exhaust soon but I am not ready to put LT's in yet. Should I try to have some true duals over the axle made of just take out my cat replace it with a straight pipe and get a magnaflow catback and call it a day? I'd love duals over the axle but I'm trying to keep the total under 1,000 including headers...

duals bro, should have come from the factory with them!
I ran the magnaflow with no cat for a couple months. Its not very loud, its not very raspy. But it has a good deep tone at idle.
Now with the long tubes and the ORY through the magnaflow, its pretty mellow at idle, but WOT is a completely different story.
I can get a video, I'm sure.

Magnaflow sound good and arnt to loud. But if u dont care about noise go with a LM1 or a TSP Rumbler. Dont get Blowmaster. I had it on mine when i bought it and hated it.

A year ago I would have said duals, but after having mine dumped on the firebird, they just get annoying unless you get some normal mufflers.
Bullets, spiral flows, 1 chambers etc all are just too loud for dd ing.
I have a flowmaster catback on my camaro and I was gonna change it for my duals, but changed my mind and it is staying.
Im sure on most setups a single 3" with a cutout will make sufficient power.
Now if you are not driving the car everyday, and dont plan on lowering the car, duals will be awesome.

It is my daily driver and I don't plan on lowering it. I want dual over the axle I don't want to dump before the axle. Pricewise how does a dual system compare to a single? Whatever I go with will have to bolt up to my stock manifolds for now since I'm not too excited to put headers in right now.

All depends on what catback you want and who does your duals. If you go magnaflow, loudmouth, or flowmaster you will get it done for under 500 bucks. Borla, GMMG and corsa are all way over 500.
Duals, over the axle will definitly run over 500 but I cant say how much.

I took a really simple route and just put a Magnaflow single outlet muffler with a turn down in place of the stock muffler. Everything else is still stock. It sounds great, louder than stock but not what I would call loud. You'll probably see my car in the near future at one NEFBody meet or another. It looks cool without any tips IMO, you can see some pics on my FQuick page.
