View Full Version : BATTLE OF THE RICERS!!!!

So tonight i was cruising around in my old '93 Civic sedan, wishing that the RS was back up and running (parents won't let me use the friggen garage :(). as i'm driving down 41st street, i see another Honda start pulling up on me. i noticed it was another Civic sedan, same bodystyle as mine, just riced out more. the kid evidently saw my "riced out" tail-lights and figured i'd be up for a race. so he starts gassin' it in 2nd, just WOT then off, WOT then off, trying to get me to run him. so i let him have it. we pulled up to a red and waited. i could hear him revving his car in the other lane, and i couldn't help but chuckle.
the light goes green and we're off. first gear was almost dead even, but i short power shifted (if that makes any sense :p) and managed to start pulling more of a lead through second. i let off at the top of 2nd, mainly because i don't really want to be busted for speeding, or racing. well i had to get some gas after that and pulled into a Shell station, with the other Civic in tow. he gets out and we start talking, evidently he had a custom header and full exhaust, plus an aftermarket CAI and intake manifold. he kept on wondering about my "mods". so i flat out told him "all i've got for mods are the tail lights, the Eclipse head unit and speakers". i swear from the look on his face he **** his pants. i've never seen someone look so embarrassed in my life! i asked him how much it all cost him, and he mumbled "$900".
cliffs:
-cruising around in my Civic
-another Civic rolls up and wants to race
-my Civic wins by about a car
-pull into gas station and start talking
-$900 in mods on other Civic, looses to stock Civic
-Driver mod FTW :D
CAI and intake manifold: $400
Custom header: $300
Full header back exhaust: $200
Getting owned by the stock version of your own car: priceless :D

no problem. there's a couple of guys here in town who i'd like to go with. you probably know of "Indian" (Justin Longcrow) and his little turbo 3.8 Camaro. i'm gonna try for a build similar to his car, but with a 3.1 and more set up for auto-x
