Test fitted the Sunoco today. After a little tweaking (after the photo's were taken) the hood fits rather well! Hoping to have everything done to the car before the shootout. Im sure it will be but people get busy, you know?

A before picture. Stock, boring, hail damaged :(

Let me know what you think! I want some opinions. No pics of the SS spoiler (98-02 style) because we all know what those look like.

Enjoy, my friends.

FWIW: The front plate will be coming off as well.

Damn, I hate that hood...

J/K! It is going to look great!

As for the 2nd Gen (Or even that 1st Gen), once it gets an interior, engine, etc. to hold it down... I am sure it will sit nice.

I hope the 2nd gen settles down and doesn't look donklike when he gets it dressed up again.

It shouldn't, as long as the stance is done right it will look good. IMO the rear wheels will be a bit big, but it should pull off the look okay.

As do I, since I have a Sunoco cowl also. Shane already knows how much I like the hood... that is why the comment was to him.

Thanks for playing.

Its not going to happen lol. I tried to convince my dad to get 17x9.5's for his 68 vette but he insists on 15x8 Torque Thrust D's with his huge tires. Looks good, but I think 17's would look awesome.

You shouldn't have had to cut your wiper cowl. I had that hood on my car before and no cutting or trimming was required. Also, I think mine sat a little bit higher too! I could be wrong though.. Here is a pic:

Yeah, he likes his small wheels. :frustrated:

Can't really blame him though, tires are cheaper and it looks more original. (Granted the mileage he puts on it each year, the tires would last 4+ years anyway)

Yea I dont know, Randall. The evidence is in the pics and it just flat out wasn't gonna fit without trimming. Maybe they (VFN) has changed the molds over time?

IIRC, he just test fitted it for them as he's local to VFN.

I have considered doing the stripes down the side of the cowl part. And the panel wouldnt be a Berger panel if it were gloss, now would it?

New photo's are a freaking must man.

Hopefully it'll be done within a week or two.

Front and rear bumper are getting painted as well. No more spider-cracks in the front! No more monstrous paint chip on the rear!

No way in hell I was going to cut up my hood! Ill cut up a cheap peice of plastic that I can replace if I ever go back to a stock hood.
