Ok, so the car was running a little warm for my taste today. Like over 210-220 in most cases, even moving down the highway. I have a feeling my little ebay fans are NOT cutting it (though they came recommended). I'm wondering what my options are.

My first thought is to mount 1-2 pushers on the front side of the A/C condensor. This would allow me to do a pusher/puller four fan combo through the condensor/radiator. Anyone see any issues with this? Amps aren't an issue, I had my alternator rebuilt to supply 180 amps.

Upgrade the two 12" pullers in the stock shroud. Problem with this is space for mounting them is VERY tight.

Upgrade radiator to a Griffin or a Be Cool or some other manufacturer who makes a "supposedly" better than stock radiator.

All of the above. But money is a definitive issue anymore. I've GOT to get something done. I think the quickest/easiest way is to hook a couple of pushers to the front of the condensor relayed through the pullers.

Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? $.02?

Sean,

Stock fans should work in MOST cases but because you have yours setup entirely different, I would probably just try another set of fans that push a higher cfm. Fluidyne has some good radiators that not much larger than stock but have a thicker core etc. Of course that's something down the line for you but they're not expensive in comparison to others. Sure your thermostat is function properly?

Yeah, I've got a good old hypertech T-stat and it's definitely still functioning.

When I was supercharged I had an overheating issue with the ac on in traffic, had only the stock fans, I installed a 10" pusher in front that i got from a junkyard for $10.00, and problem fixed!

in fl the stock radiator is boarder line to small for a stock engine. you can add extra fans but it more of a band aid than a fix. you need more capacity. a dual 1" tubes should be plenty but griffin does make one with 1 1/4" tubes if you want over kill.

Sean, did your build take away the space needed to run the stock fans?

Coming from you, that's telling me I'm on the right track.

It certainly did. I fit some very thin pullers recommended by Jon into the stock fan shroud.

I was looking at the Be Cool and that's a chunk of change I'm trying to avoid right now, lol.

Well I'm speaking from experience. Stk rad will do the job, I ran mine that way w/ the stk fans and a 160 stat on a F1 no problem. Never overheated or got close to it until I started making top end pulls on the autobahn for an extended period of time. I'm talking 185mph + for 5-7 mins a pop. I then only switched to a fluidyne rad and kept the stock fans w/ the same 160 stat and doing those same runs my temps dropped avg 10-15*. Around town w/ the stk setup she never got over 185...ever

SO it's not the fans or the radiator IMO.

I only am seeing 200 ish on a 100+ degree summer day in traffic. Do you still have the factory air dam below the radiator? Or did you remove it for your intercooler setup? I know I initially removed a portion of my air dam and my temps went soaring. I later added just an inch more material to the air dam and my temps cooled way back down.

i have a large griffin (the biggest one i could fit AFTER cutting my core support out) and two small 1000crm pusher fans.

it has never seen anything over 190 degrees. even in 100deg weather, in stop and go traffic.

on the highway, it struggles to get past 160 with HALF a air damn, and no fans running.

but i dont have ac.....

How old is your stock radiator? Has it been flushed?
I was on stock radiator, stock fans, hypertech 160 t-stat, with air dam, and was running too warm (210-ish with A/C on a hot day). I had this mystery coolant leak that I couldn't find, and finally got pissed and changed the radiator and hoses. It now doesn't run any hotter than 185 in the same conditions. Seems my original radiator wasn't making the cut anymore, possibly due to 14 years of deposits and the like.
