So for any of you guys who want to remove window tint; I found what I think may be the best way to remove window tint residue that is left on the glass after you peel off the tint. I tried Vodka, different types of glass cleaners, soaps, razor blade with windex, etc...
I used Gojo orange hand cleaner/pumice with a green brillo pad. You know, the ones you use on pots and pans and have a yellow sponge on the other side. Follow that up with a quick wipe with a glass cleaner and towel.
It took that old tint residue right off with minimal effort. Did not damage the glass, but I didnt rub hard. :finger:

First off, how dare you waste Vodka.
Secondly, Goo-B-Gone worked like a charm.
best thing to use is a little glass cleaner and a "white" scotchbrite pad, it wont hurt defogger grids. i install tint on a regular basis.

dawn or goo gone should work too
and i also discovered that simple green is a good way to get grease off of your hands when you go in for dinner :)

I guess I should have specified that I only did this on the front glass. I guess it wouldnt be a good idea to use something as abrasive as a green pad on the defroster. Thanks for pointing that out.
I tried all sorts of crap, including grease removers, goo gone, simple green, fantastic, purple power...this stuff would not come off. It was a window that I picked up from a junk yard yesterday to replace my DS window. Had some cheap tint on there that was faded really bad and scratched. The residue that this stuff left on there was terrible.
Oh, and as far as wasting the vodka, i only tried with about 1/2 oz. Trust me, I felt bad using it for something other than going into my stomach.
