Gotta buy one whats the advantage of the high volume?

benefit is kind of obvious, it flows more volume? not trying to be sarcastic... just saying.
be sure not to use a high volume pump on a stock pan because you can suck it dry. it is ok to use a high pressure pump however, or the $3 pressure-relief spring upgrade.

Pretty sure you can run a stock pan with a high volume pump. There are guys doing it, including me.

Be careful is all i have to say. I think its about 50/50 with people running high volume pumps and stock pans. A local mechanic told me i could run one if my engine was clean with no sludge in it, but then there are guys who have lost engines on ls1tech i know.

FWIW, I've never actually met anyone who's sucked their pan dry with an HV pump, but I
have met many who have been running them for years without issue.
Having said that, I don't see any huge advantage to an HV pump, it seems to me that it would only cause more drag on the motor.
