View Full Version : Post Your Lowered F-body

Enthusiast

Alright guys most of these thread suck. So lets do one right. Post a picture of your lowered Fbody, try not to post a deceiving one like in tall grass etc, side views would be best.

Also post specs, like springs, hose mod, lower perch on konis, tire size (taller than stock tires will have a smaller fender gap), and anything that affects ride height (like 100lbs taken off the nose or something like that).

Lets have a good reference point to look back on.

I used ls1 Eibachs. I trimmed the rears about 3/4 inch off the top coil. No isolators, hose mod. 315/17 in the rear and rolled the lips. Overall drop was about 2 inches front and rear. Full weight car. Will add more pics later. This is only one I had on my phone.

QA1 shocks and springs. I think I am somewhere around 3/4 of an inch lowered. Tires up front are 275/35ZR18's, rears are 305/35ZR18's, 18X9 wheels up front 18X10 wheels on rear (discontinued ROH Drift R wheels).

8474 My 95 Formula with DNA Motoring springs (ebay specials). probably aren't the greatest springs but my girlfriend bought them as a christmas present so i figured i'd give them a shot, plus i have to give her credit for actually supporting my car addiction ha. Only have the fronts in now, planning on doing the rears this week so i havent driven it yet with them on. So far i'm happy with the ride height and stance these springs gave it though.

Thanks man. I've put quite a bit of work in to it, so it's appreciated. #s match 400/4spd car, 55k miles, and some modest handling upgrades. Put 4k miles on it last year between the Bandit Run and Power Tour:D

Ummm...actually, that's my '96 in the background...too many cars, too few garage spots. My neighbor rents me a garage spot for my '76. I have motorized stuff strewn all over the country.

02WS6SSZ71

The Koni shocks are awesome...I've got them on all 4 of my f-bodies. Don't expect it to ride like a Caddy AND corner like crazy though. I'd say ride quality is on par with stock when appropriately set up, but all the lean will be gone from your car...feel free to take curves at twice the suggested speed. You can make the car ride better by going with soft settings, but kinda defeats the purpose of putting on a performance shock.

I went ahead and started at the settings BMR recommended despite my feelings that they were going to be a little too stiff. I think the settings they gave are geared a little too much towards track use for what I'll be using the car for, but I'm going to give them a little bit of time to break in before I make any adjustments. The BMR springs are supposed to be the same rates as the Strano springs, but BMR's recommended settings on the Konis are more agressive that Strano's recommendations.

Absolutely feel free to PM me if you have any questions on settings or install. Definitely no expert, but I've got some experience dealing w/ them obviously.
