Im a new member here and am new too drag racing. I have a 12.5 too 1 355. 4.10 gears a4 with 3000 stall. Im not exactly sure what the car puts down too the wheels but id estimate between 350-400 @ the wheels. I plan on running two stages 100 for launch and 150 at halftrack. I have nitto nto5 dr's 275/40/17. Also installing a ford 8.8 rear with custom t/a and moser custom axles. The car hooks decent just on motor but with the added 250 shot it'll never hook till half track. I have all stock suspension right now and want the best setup possible tha will still be street friendly. I would like too know what i need too buy and costs of setting this car up to cut nasty 60' times. Budget isn't exactly part of my vocabulary either so i am open too all options.

What is your 60' now? Nitto's haven't had a great reputation for traction so that may be part of your problem. Make sure your chassis is stiff(sub frame connectors, roll bar, etc) chassis flex is unpredictable and makes consistency nearly impossible. once you have the chassis able to transfer torque then it's time to adjust how the suspension applies it to the ground. What's your "custom TA" consist of and how/ where is it mounted to the car? A mistake almost everyone myself included makes is they build the engine for the car and not the car for the engine. Then your stuck with unusable power left on the table, which does you no good!

Lcas, adjustable lower control arms relocation brackets, qa1 double adjustable shocks, adjustable pan hard bar, drag bag. Adjustable torque arm, that's petty set up unless you don't have sub frame connectors

I was looking at a stage 2 "bmi" kit. Expensive but don't know ifbthe adjustable t/a will work with my 4l60 and my ford 8.8 rear. I don't have sfc's but i know i need them asap .i think your referring too the nitto 555's which are horrible traction wise. My nto5's hook very well if heated up first. The 2 stage may prove me wron as far as the nittos go. Is the stage 2 drag kit that i was talking bout worth the money or can i piece something together for way less money? Don't recall exactly but i think it was in the 1400-1700 range. Thanks for the help guys.. also not sure what my 60' time is. Never been too the track with it. Plan on going in a week or 2.

I'm not familar with BMI, did you maybe mean BMR or UMI? The stage 2 BMR kit isn't priced bad and BMR makes nice stuff. It doesn't look like it comes with a PHB though. You might call Midwest Chassis or Burkhart Chassis and see if they can fab up a TA and a similar package for less $. A call to Madman or even site sponsor Shon Herron might be worth your time as well.
