Ok im buying a Tb for my 95 LT1. I was looking at either the 52mm bbk model or the Arizona speed and marine 52mm. I also noticed arizona had a 54mm tb, Would this require port matching? If so what 52mm is better bbk or arizonas?

the opening of the manifold is only for 52mm all others need to be opened up....as far as which TB i would just get the BBK...

Actually a 54 doesn't require porting. If Arizona Speed and Marine fits your budget, go with that. It's a MUCH nicer piece overall. Be prepared to do some work to either one though. The ASM will need the copper pipe mod, the BBK will need the same and some smoothing of the entry to the IAC to keep it from whistling, and may need some smoothing around the blades to keep it from sticking (mine did).

What is the copper pipe mod? and what will i need to smooth out? Some pics would help tremendously, still trying to get aquainted with the LT1 motor.

Seems like all of these throttle bodies need some type of modification.

You basicly have 3 options.

1. Cheapest option, buy a stock throttle body thats been machined to 52mm with new blades. ($125-170)

2. I would probably get cast and machined unit like the pro-products or bbk if you want a functional unit and want to pay less. I've heard nothing but things about pro-products. ($200-350)

3. I would get the ASM or Holley if you want a billet unit and if want to spend a little more. I have a holley 52mm and I had to slot my TPS sensor to get the correct reading. You can typically find these pretty easily on ebay and the forums USED for $150-200. I don't see anything wrong with a used throttle body. New they are $350 +

I paid 240 for a new in box BBK 58mm Tb on ebay! Unless you reall want that billet look?? Just go for the best bang for the buck! I had to do something with my last BBK but I dont remember what it was. It was an easy fix. Never had any other prob so I got another one

AS&M makes very nice parts if they fit in your budget.

If not, I'm sure the BBK will do you just fine.
