I am looking to supercharge 96 corvette lt4. From what I been reading people seem afraid to do it because of the high compression. I don't believe 10.8:1 would be bad with 5 to 8lb of boost providing proper tuning. If the timing is set right and there is proper fuel it shouldn't be a problem. I am not familiar with tuning and setting up these cars. Anyone have any experience with this?... Ps I have an integra type R which is an 11:1 motor running turbo at 8psi with no issues or detonation.

I can try to make contact with a guy I met like 8 years ago, that lives near a friend of mine. He had a procharged Corvette GS (a real one) and it RAN!!!!!

Btw, my LT1 is 10:1 and seeing better than that......

You can put a supercharger on it but if you are on stock pistons, it's basically a timebomb... Hyperutectic pistons, high compression, and boost...means you have to have the tune spot on! I believe that there are far more people that put a blower on that hurt the stock motor than there are that didn't. Personally mine never blew up but I built a new motor before I ever put more than 6psi through it...

I'm not too familiar how strong the motors are and can handle boost. If I don't go that route. What is the best way for all motor setup? I used to have a 5.0 mustang and did heads cam and intake manifold and made way more power. LT4 heads seem like they are decent factory heads. How do aftermarket heads and cams work on LT4 stock bottoms.

since u already have lt4 heads u may want 2 consider having them ported. advanced induction and lloyd elliot are 2 of the popular choices, both of which can also custom grind a cam 4 u and port your intake manifold. they both have several different packages 4 different power levels.
