I was looking at different rear disk conversions for my 68, and I ran across this

Hotchkis Sport Suspension - Baer SPORT System, Rear, 68-69 F-Body :: Brake Kits :: Rear Brake Systems (http://www.hotchkis.net/baer_sport_system_rear_6869_fbody.html)

its a Baer system, yet, look at the caliper, looks very familiar no?

Looks like an LT1 setup to me.

yea, i guess Baer is taking LT1 brakes and slapping a bracket on them and using them on 1st gens and charging 900 bucks

Bear brakes, and 4th gen rear brakes are the same exact calipers. There is absolutely no difference what so ever.

FWIW, I would look at some LT1, or LS1 rear calibers, then go to bear for the brackets to save the most cash.

No real reason to reinvent the wheel for alot of thoose conversions. Just like I will be using the generic brembo caliper on everything from now on

Not to skew the thread, but I would like to see how the 5th Gen brembo brakes work out on a 4th gen. They are HUGE brakes, and the 5th gen is much heavier than the 4th gens (not to mention they look sexy).

I will be upgrading my Bear large two piston front calipers at some point to something insane. Not sure if I will sell my current setup, or just swap it over to my LS1.

Bear does make excellent brakes.

imagine what they'd be if they were some baer 4 piston calipers...

make sure you let us know if you decide to sell your current ones. i'd love me some true big brakes, but i don't think i'll ever have it in me to pay the true big brake price

Had em for sale for a short period of time (when I thought I was going to upgrade my brakes earlier this year). After I decided to save this year and upgrade them next year (hopefully) I had to turn down more than a few people.

I'll be selling them for around $900. That will include front rotors and calipers, along with almost new pads.
