COBALT didn't know what he was getting into.

I was coming home from my sisters house after a little kick back. It was my wife, neice, daughter and of course me. It was late so ther were very few cars on the road. We came up to a red Cobalt SS at the light. The light turned green and we took off slow and easy like you normally would but at about 20-25 mph we both hit the throttle. He got me by about 2 car lenths on take off but as soon as I hit second gear it was pretty much over. I was kind of surprised by how fast he got the jump on me. The car was prolly a 2010 Cobalt an as far as mods go I don't know if he had any. My mods are beefed up cam (small cam at best) and CAI, Headers, 3400 stall with a shift kit (B&M) and 3.73 gears nicely tuned by PCMforless. We ran a second race from a stop and the outcome was the same. He pulled 2 car lenths on me then second gear came in and like the first race it was over. Gotta give him credit. He did surprise me on the jump. I'd hate to think he was just toying with me haha.

Off the line, I would think he would have a lot of slightly modded F-cars, because they are light. But then they would just run out of steam. There are a few quick Cobalt SSs out there though.

nice kill! i ran a 10' cobalt ss last summer. he had exhaust and a tune if i recall. we ran into each other on the hwy. 65 rolls he didn't stand a chance against bolt lt1 powa

Koo. I haven't raced in forever and not with the gears and stall even once so I didn't know what to expect from the Maro. I've recently been challenged by a older nova with a 383 stroker and by a friends Rat Rod with a stock 454 in it. Wonder how the LT1 will do. If it ever happends I'll be sure to post a story.:metal:

Noooo they suck off the line because they have no traction. Then rape on the top end because they are light. :)

if it was the turbo one he has the launch controle if i was the supercharged one then its a bich to launch i used to own an 06 ion redline it was a great car till i was rear ended i have vids of it stock pulling my frinds 04 mustang gt put down 22o fwhp stock :laugh:
