so,I'm going to afghanistan in june and after I come back I plan on building either a forged 355 or a forged 383, not sure yet, this would be for a front mount turbo set up, don't know on what car but for sure a chevy engine. looking around in the shop I found this two turbos that don't have an owner since their engines are long gone, and they are free!!!! but I don't know if one is too smal or the other one is too big, the one on the right (the small one) I found that is a GT40, with a .58 compressor and a 1.34 turbine side, the big one I have no idea what size it is but it came out of a straight 6 cummins, which one would be more suitable for 550-650 whp? trought a th 400?

engine here are the pics:

neither......you are looking for something with a .96 turbine housing and a 76-88 mm compressor wheel for what you want to do. you can find a cheap o on ebay for very little coin. remember......you get what you pay for, and those are free. both are diesel turbos from what i discern from the ratio of the turbine housings and you would have a hell of a time getting either spooled. i know theyre free but i would advise not getting your hopes up on either of these hair dryers, theyre just for the wrong application. sorry bud, keep your eyes open and your head down over there! - Jason Robertson USMC
