So Ive gone through 3 sets of wires so far, msd, stock, and now otvc Taylor custom wires, which is where im at now. No burn't wires or boots yet these Taylors still arnt working for me. Reason i say this is cause at night in the dark i swear you can watch the spark travel down the wire then random flashes around the boot, car is running, forced to drive it everyday but no pops or backfires just random surging and powerloss. what is wrong? is it the wires or somewhere else, if wires why do i keep going through them so bad?

Electricity is going to take the path of least resistance. How is the car running internally (I.E. have you scanned it for Real Time Data?)??

Looks that way, after the second set i bought the otvc wires and dei protect a boot covers that keep them away from the headers.

cracked plugs?

Plugs have been replaced everytime the wires were certain to be careful, i feel i can change the plugs in my sleep now.

The size of the wire should not be the problem, as Fastbird says it takes the path of least resistance... Which is arcing out just before the spark plug in your case. If it did it on all 3 sets, chances are its something else.

My guess also would be a cracked or destroyed spark plug, what kind of plugs did you use? What gap?

Check the ground from the battery to the engine block and clean everything.
