I'm getting plugs/wires and fuel filter change next weekend
p.s If i do replace opti, is jegs good enough? or should i just get MSD? I am putting all performance parts in everytime i replace something (i.e NGK plugs, MSD Wires Headers/cam/heads soon as i can start saving when my ride is riding like it should) anyone?
I plan on stopping at heads/headers/cam. then just doing better gears and rear end and new trans .

you said ur getting the plugs and wires changed next week... as in youre not doing it yourself? A shop will charge a rediculous amount to do the plugs and wires
and the way you describe that sound, it does not sound like an opti it sounds more like an internal problem
come to thinka it, do you still have a cat(s)? could be clogged..
I had my cat go out a couple years ago and there was no place for the exhaust to vent, the car would start overheating and had NO power

Duplicate the problem and then pull the wires off one by one and put an extra plug you have laying around on them to make sure that its a spark issue before you go throwing parts at it.
If you do have to replace the opti, the MSD unit is supposed to be pretty good, but a few have had problems. Could always be operator error, however. I would get the MSD or a new AC Delco unit. You can find the Delco units on Ebay from thepartsladi (I think that's the name) for a reasonable price. The Delco units will support alot more power than people give them credit for.
Oh, and I wouldn't just get a cap and rotor, get the whole assembly.
