Whenever I melted plugs on my old 355 Lt4 combo it would melt #7 and #8 plugs. I had to add 12% to the back two cylinders via lt1edit to get it to have enough fuel on the bigger shots (200hp).

So, you're using a modified-Opti up front only to generate the high and low resolution pulses for the PCM. While the rear dizzy is the cap and rotor for the spark.

My motor just went back in the car and lets just say the times I posted are not anything to speak of yet. I haven't even giving this thing any timing yet. My motor passes were at 30* the nitrous pass were 26 and 24*. I'm sure you have been around enough to see it is still going to pick up. I can most likely spray the fogger at 25 to 26*


Want to make a bet on who posts the faster time after the weekend. :)

The original plan at the last event was to re-spray before the elimination rounds but the rain early in the day set the whole schedule back which resulted in not enough time to re-prep. The track still hooked though!

Next year it will get done if we are on schedule.

It got locked almost right away though, some people decided to go and be childish and start talking smack in the thread.

Yep, exactly what I meant. AI makes some good stuff but those guys that get paid to push their crap on LS1tech.... Its absurd. And annoying.

I'm going to show-up at the 2009 shoot-out "again" with everything 96caprice says won't work (Golen stroker, AFR heads w/ Elliott Portworks and Comp cam).

I've already called him out (LS1TecH), at the shoot-out to see if he can actually out-run someone with his big tuna-boat. I would probably give him a second (maybe more) and we run for some money at the shoot-out $$$$.

Yes, everything is bad to him except AI parts.

Ive seen many golen engines around here, as far as I am concerned they are good builders (I have heard some complaints, but they were resolved immediately. Every engine I have seen built by them is solid).

I guess this qualifies as smack talking (low level smack). Anyway, I'm working on a complete LTX rebuild for next year's shoot-out with my Z28. Not sure what it will run, but I'll be back in the N/A class and hope to be competitive again. :secret:

But while the LTX is down for the rebuild, I'm saying current drag racing and I'm getting a lot of experience going fast at the track. Check-out my current ride (a firend's car I'm driving). Lloyd Elliott got to see it a few weeks ago at Texas Motorplex, so I've got a real live witness. No BS factor here! :D

The best with the BBC Monza is a 9.43 @138. However, we now have a smaller carb on it now to slow it down some and improve the consistency. Also, it has a power-glide and I've been running it in the No-Electronics class.

The diaper in the photo is a same brand I have on the Monza and it is really simple to install. There are four metal tabs that attach to the front and rear header bolt on each bank (4 attachment points). Then you use the adjustable straps to pull it tight around the pan.

I need to start looking for a smaller diaper that will fit my LTX engine.

Diaper, no. Window nets, absolutely if your car is going faster than 9.99.

Typically, a 6-point roll-bar is good down to 10.00 in a uni-body car (4th Gen F-Body) with factory fire-wall and floor-pan.

However, everything changes at 9.99 and quicker. Then a complete roll-cage w/ net, chassis certification, S/G NHRA/IHRA drivers licenses and full fire-suit.

My car is good down to 10.00 with this set-uo.

Well I'm looking at a new set of heads not sure if I want to choke them on the little bore but I would be looking at picking up 100cfm. I may have to upgrade the cage if I go with them.
