ok guys, this might be a really stupid question, im not to sure. but i see all of these pictures of guys with the wolfe 6 point weld in kit, and its powdercoated. i know you cant powder coat the joints where it needs welded first, so they have to do it after its been welded up. but theres no way i can think of that it would come out of the car, after its all welded together, would it? how do they get them to look so nice? id like to get one, and have a great welder to do the work for me, but i cant figure this out. thanks guys

Get a bolt in kit. If installed correct they are stronger than a weld in application and easy to remove if you ever decide to upgrade or sell it. Im very happy with mine and it fit perfect. Youve prob seen pics already

hmmm... i thought it had to be weld in to be legit, like at the track to run faster than an 11.99... which i plan on doing at some point.. and i just noticed that the bolt in kit is a heck of alot more expensive. and i would still have to weld the plates to the floor right? thanks for the imput man, but that still doesnt answer my question about how the heck they powder coat the weld in kits??:confused:

You would have to just use black paint and do it in the car b4 final tack welding it in place.. Bolt in kits are legal to 9.99 and same with swing outs and require no welding at all.:peace2:

hmmm i did not think they were legal that low... what exactly do they bolt to? i thought you would still have to weld the plates to the floor. do you happen to have pics of your install? if its not to much of a pain. the price is still a good bit higher, but i guess it may be worth it, thanks man!

yeah that does help, thanks man. so you just drill the holes in the floor pan and bolt it all in? sounds simple enough. just the top bars that go back the the wheel well, where they meet the main hoop, are those bolted on the same as the door bars? im guessing thats how they attach. other than that, im pretty sure i get the idea now, thanks man.

Yep they all bolt together like the door bars and just drill into the floor boards. Be careful on the DS though or you will hit a fuel line. Simple to install.

exactly i hit mine and had to do the speed inc braided kit. i set door bar where i wanted it, then took a ratchet strap to pull the other side over. mine were just 3/8ths off but it bugged me.

Small correction they're legal to 10.00 at 9.99 things get even more $$! Bolt in will require a plate like the one on the top on the bottom as well so you "sandwich" the plates between the floor. Nice pics Mike, looks like you took time and made a clean install even when cutting the carpet!:D

Thanks and You are correct its 10.00. The wolfe kit comes with the plates I just didnt take any pics. 9.99 needs a 10pt and a bunch of other stuff.

same thing with weld ins the fuel line under the drivers side, I heard of people doing those and getting the floor hot enough to melt the line and the fuel lines went up just be glad you only drilled yours. I decided when I did mine I had the means to do a weld in I was going to do it that way. but I bent all my bars and everything.
