FI guys-
I need to change the exit direction of the air from my bypass valve. At this point, the bypass valve purges straight down at the road. It stirs up dust and gets a HUGE buildup of dirt all down the passenger's side of my car, and gets the engine bay FULL of dirt and dust within a couple of days. I've thought about indexing it 90 degrees so it points straight forward, and attaching a hose of sorts to it to have it exit out the front of the bumper. I've also thought about the same configuration, but having it exit out the side of the front bumper via a velocity stack. Might look cool, but I'm not sure if a ricey hole in my bumper is THAT cool.
My concern is this: If I have the air purging out the front of the bumper, will there be issues with water, bugs, etc getting into the bypass valve? Or, when traveling at a high speed, will air try to force itself into my bypass valve, thus affecting the performance of purging excess boost pressure when letting off the throttle?
I've also thought about indexing it 90 degrees rearward and just letting it purge right into the inside of the passenger fenderwell. This way, it would be facing backwards and I wouldn't have to worry about stuff getting into it, and wouldn't stir up dust too bad.
Thoughts, recommendations?
