well got a nitrous kit for the car it is a nitrous express fogger kit. only spraying a 50 shot right now while im testing the kit, car is tuned for 150. But when i flip the switch after purging an go WOT it bogs at first then comes alive. What could cause this? im not sure what the bottle pressure was at the time, it was prolly in the yellow. I sprayed it 3 times now the first 2 it was fine an the third it happend. Also after i sprayed it the car is now hard to start just cranks an cranks an cranks then it finally starts could the n2o be playing a factor in that?

need to know the pressure, possible it is getting too much fuel at first or possibly not enough fuel and detonating. Or the car could be sensing a lot of knock and pulling a ton of timing.

What size fuel jet do you have? Have you pulled out a spark plug to see if it is fouled at all?

bottle pressure was 800-850.

pulling the plugs tonight and ill check the jets again, dont remember whats in it.

800-850 seems too low, but I'm not sure it's low enough to make it bog. I try to keep my bottle psi around 950-1000.

its hard to keep the pressure up without a heater lol.

Should've gone w/ nano nitrous :P

Bottle heaters are about $50 on nitrous outlets site. Also, are the n2o and fuel lies from the solenoids the same length?

Actually more like $150.

yes there the same length

Thats odd they used to have just the element for about $45 about 9 months ago. The were red back then. I also don't recommend going with a pressure switch. Too inconsistent with keeping bottle bottle pressures. Just watch the gauge, and after time you'll know how long to heat the bottle to get it t the temps you want.

Don't know what to say about the bogging. Maybe the fuel jet/solenoid is partially clogged with debris.

Yes $85 for the heater and $150 if you want auto.

I agree, because my temperature switched leaked around the adj. screw after a couple months. I turned the bottle on one night and fogged the inside of my car out.

I was really happy for the rest of the night though!

I threw the NX pressure switch I had out.. Kept bottle pressure at like 850psi

Dyno tune sell the best pressure switch on the market. (My opinion) It keeps the pressure within about a 50 psi range. I would jet a system to run in the 850-900 psi range. Once you go over 950 or 1000 you will start to see a larger pressure drop thru the pass do to the nitrous reaching a point were the temperature to maintain the pressure it starts to get less stable.

I would say the car is rich. Could be from lower bottle pressure also are you using a window switch? At what RPM are you going WOT? It would be interesting to know thew timing when the nitrous comes on, but with the little your spraying that shouldn't matter much.

What size jets are you running?

no window switch yet, basicly just been testing the kit. Ive been spraying 1st thru 4th gear and going WOT at 3,000 rpms after arming the switch never sprayed below 3k. jet i been testin the kit with are #20 fuel and #35 n2o.

do you have a wideband? If so what is it reading on the hit? I'm gonna assume rich and say put in a smaller fuel jet, but it needs to be verified

dont have a wideband, an dont think i have access to one anymore ether. havent had the chance to datalog it ether thats why im on the small jets.

Well try to put just a little bit smaller fuel jet in it and see what it does, if it gets better then too much fuel may be the problem

95formula383lt1
11-11-2010, 04:45 PM
how much smaller?

Z28pr0jekt

Just do very small increments unless you can manage to get a wideband or at least some datalogging.

You don't want to go too small and run lean as we are not sure that is the problem because it could be fuel pressure or knock/timing

fuel pressure is perfect at the test port, knock an timing is very possible car as solid motor mounts btw. but im kinda thinkn its bottle pressure but i havent sprayed it since then an now the heads are back off should be running by tomorrow though. im going to see what jets i have laying around.
