hey, im new here and will be the proud owner of my first f body(97 T/A) on tuesday. wanted to find out what options i had for a crazy drop(eliminating all wheel gap, and poss. tucking some tire.) without having to rob a bank.

so far i have seen the QA1 coilovers and im assuming thats going to be the best route.

im not too worried about wheel hop, and i want to have a stiff ride.

im getting out of a gti that is slammed on 9.5"wide corvette wheels on all for corners tucking tire. i prefer the stiff ride

Any other suggestions?

sportlines or intrax lowering springs. if u want lower in the front u can get coil overs. my car in my sig has sportlines fyi

I have intraxx and after 2 years the coils are nearly touching, time for new springs.... I run 19's all the way around and tuck the front tires about 3/4", luckily they dont rub

So they dont hold up or do u just run on alot of nasty roads?I am leaning towards that qa1 coiliver setup. Anybody running them?pros or cons?

I wouldnt buy the intraxx again, but I didnt have the best experience with them either. they settled way to far for the amount of coils/spring rate. The ride isnt that great either.

same here. my car came with sportlines. it looks good but rides to soft (spring rates suck). Once i get spare cash ill be going with the new bmr's or some strano's

Why not look into the edelbrock IAS coilovers? I hear alot of good things about them from the few people that have them. I'll be installing mine in a month or so when I get my tubular a arms. I have 600# springs to replace the 550# springs that come with them, but I may get some 650# if the 600s don't quite do it. I'm also running air bags in the rear with IAS rear shocks. I lowered axle bag mount about 1/2" and I raised the bag mount on the body side about 1/2-3/4" On the front I'm modifying the upper shock mount by cutting the bottom off of it to raise the mount of the coilover up about 3/4" this gives the shock more travel when running a low ride height.

This weekend if my motor pull goes well I will post some pics of my parts if I get a chance to cut them up

Something else to consider, I was looking through GMHTP, and appearently BMR just came out with new lower control arms for the front that give a 1" drop without changing out the springs or the whole strut.
