I have posted a couple of pics before on the TPIS 58mm, but wanted to document the beginning of installing the TPIS with a Nitrous Outlet LT1 plate setup. I finally have placed my last order for all the incidentals and parts needed to start installing my wet kit. I have went to great lengths to purchase about every item I can think of to protect the stock bottom end (that's right I said stock bottom and wet kit in the same paragraph)http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_jest.gif. Over the years I have acquired a bunch of different parts and its finally time to clear off the dust and put the items on the carhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_judge.gif I will update this thread as I finish different parts of the system.

TPIS 58mm has a brand new IAC valve and TPS sensor. I still can't get over how beautiful the craftsmanship is on this part. Ultimately I will start off with a 100 shot and work my way into a 150/75ish wet shot. I've got alot of safety features to put on the car that are high tech for an old LT1, but I'm curious how far I can take the stock block full bolt-ons and factory weight WS6? If it blows then I finally have a reason to build the motor.

Here are some teaser pics:

Really nice looking throttle body and you will love the NO wet plate. Should have waited a little bit longer as I would have sold you mine. Since you are like me, I wouldn't be able to wait either.

You don't have a hotter cam in the car correct? You should be fine with the right tune and fuel spraying 150-175hp if you the shortblock is still entirely stock. I'm spraying a 100hp on top of my current h/c setup (~480rwhp) and the stock shortblock hasn't missed a beat.

BlackbirdWS6 (Brian): What do you have for sale :hmm: (Nano ?) Text me. Correct, car is running the stock 96 LT1 cam with Comp Cam 1.6 RR's. I believe the lift is .517/.521-ish with the 1.6's. The motor is all stock internal, never opened it up. I've got a ridiculous amount of computer control and safety features to install on the car to hopefully make the shortblock live at the edge (150/175 wet shot). We'll see :secret:

Biggriff: Thanks

Joker Z28: Settle down :) Enjoy your new nitrous items.....

Faust: LOL, I like that statement, "pill it till you kill it". Let's hope it does not die too soon. I want to see what kind of numbers it can put down at the edge of destruction (175 ish shot)

I am running a N/O hard-line plate set up and love it, I having putting the 150 hit to it for a year now, what pills are you using for the 175 shot? I am running a hotcam kit stock heads and stock bottom end and very pleased with the way the car runs for what it is. Nice looking throttle body!

Pretty much all the performance stuff attached to the engine will be for sale along with a few other items. Likely will happen around a month.

Def get the tune dialed in as the pills can be close but safer the better.

Happy spraying....you know this means the car will need to leave the garage and be driven correct? :)

I started comprising a list of everything that is already installed or needs to be:

Nitrous Outlet: LT1 plate, LT1 solenoid plate, Nitrous (using the larger noid), Fuel & Purge solenoids, hard line kit to plate, Fuel pressure safety switch (4AN)

MSD: DIS 4 (using the timing retard & 2 step with a latch circuit)

DynoTune: 10lb bottle (4AN setup), bottle opener, heater pad, billet bottle mount, heater controller, purge (billet dual outlet 4AN), A/F cutoff box, wideband gauge (red led), N2O pressure (red led), and Nitrous microcenter with led's

Pro Lite: 8AN blowdown kit (black) with black nylon hose. This is routed to the passenger rear spare tire area. A bulkhead is used to vent the nitrous to the ground in the event the burst disc fails.

NX: NX maximizer II, NX bottle controller, I will be using a laptop to setup the files for this device. Lots of cool stuff you can do with this controller.

Snow's Performance: Methanol with the progressive controller

I think this covers the lion's share of what I have to install. Some items are in the car and installed, others need to be wired. I'm really curious to lean on the stock LT1 and just see how nasty I can get this car to run on the stock block, heads, & camhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif
I'm thinking that using the larger nitrous outlet noid it should hit a lot harder on the 150/75 shot or greater if it does not spill its guts http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_bomb.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_chug.gif

NO SHOW: I'm going to have to mix and match a little to come up with a 175 shot. I don't think I want to try on the big boy pants and put the 200 shot pills in this stock motor.

Here are a few updated pics of the plate, bracket, throttle body mounted.

Faust: Yes, it is part of the NX maximizer II.

Here are a couple more shots, but I won't be able to do much more until I get my last parts order from Nitrous Outlet:

Ordered some more little parts, mostly fittings for the nitrous. Hopefully everything will be here by Friday?

Decided to work on the nitrous setup over the weekend. I built a plate to hold the electronics for the NX MAX II system. This is really starting to turn out trick. I've been lucky in getting everything to play nice and hide behind factory items. The board is 5/8" MDF with charcoal fleck carpet to look OEM. I used the seat belt restraint bolt to mount the board securely and it worked beautifully. I will need to start wiring the different electronic modules this weekend and hopefully my parts order from Nitrous Outlet / Speed INC. will be here by friday.

PS: On a side note I just want to say that Speed INC. and Nitrous Outlet have been fantastic to work with, especially Chris @ Nitrous Outlet.

Worked on the car for a little bit tonight and finished installing my blow down tube to the rear of the car. I used all pro-line black -8AN fittings. Black nylon hose with a 90 and a bulkhead to vent to atmosphere. It turned out very clean http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_pimp.gif

So I finally got all of the connections to the bottle completed. Nitrous Express Remote bottle opener sender (works with the program in your laptop), DynoTune remote opener head, DynoTune heater pad relay control, and the DynoTune N2O sending unit. It was a lot of stuff to get on the bottle just right so I could use the -4AN spin down fastening wing for the nitrous line. It looks like all of the small items are out of the way on the physical bottle. I'm just waiting for all my noids and then I can install them and start wiring some of the small electronics. I also still need to figure out where and how I'm going to mount my purge block.

Here are a few update pics from last weekend. I finally got all the parts I needed to mount the solenoids to the N/O plate and I mounted everything on the intake. I just need to measure the fuel line and purge line and have them custom made to length. I should be mounting the bottle in the package area as soon as I get my mount kit from N/O http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_pimp.gif.

Thanks for the compliments.

The bottle will actually be easy to change out. It will be sitting on the package tray in between the cage. I will try and post some pics next week when I get a chance to install the bottle.

Another quick update: I got some small items setup tonight. Installed the LT1 hardline kit from the plate to the solenoids. I had a local place piece together a custom 12" line for my FPSS to the fuel noid. Received my -4AN fuel filter, purge fittings and a short length of purge tubing. I'm going to bend a purge line and have it come through the cowl with a aluminum V-block for purging the line. I should be able to start running the main -4AN nitrous line to the front of the car, but I have to finish installing the FPSS and sensor for reading the fuel pressure electronically through my Aeroforce gauge. Hopefully I can hook that up this weekend http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif I'm getting close to finishing the setup and I installed the 100 shot jets tonight so I can start out tuning the NX MAX II progressive controller. After I'm comfortable with that setup I will step up to the 150 or maybe 175 shot http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_pimp.gif I only wish I had been this close about 45 days ago. The weather is going to start getting bad and the car will have to be put to sleep for the winter http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/secret.gif

Here is a pic of the remaining parts:

It has been a little while since I have taken any progress pics. The weather has just been too cold in the northhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies3/ripped.gif to work on the car. Finally finished making and installing the purge line with billet v-block. I'm happy with the results. Sorry for the low quality pics.

Thanks guys, I actually bent all the lines myself. Its much easier than I thought to make the lines. I even pulled the center pin out of the clip on the cowling and ran the tubing through the grommet and it looks completely factory :D I'm going to start on the fuel line setup and finally hook up the electronic portion of my fuel pressure on the Aeroforce tech gauge.

Think the car may see the track this season to try the juice out?

Thanks Bryan:D Yes, the car is definitely going see some track time with the nitrous. I have been upset with myself over the last two seasons for not driving the car, or getting the benefits from my mods. I currently have the 125 pills right now for tuning the progressive controller and watching the A/F. After I get it dialed in, game on with the 175 pills  Also, I think I'm going to drag out my Bogart's and finally mount a set of 275/60/15 BFG drag radials for street and strip duty. It should make it real interesting on the street this summer :hmm:, can't wait to have some fun!

On a side note; how is your car coming along? I'm betting you can't wait to make that huge snail move some air!

Awesome! I'm not sure if you have tried the system on your car yet prior to this round of mods but you are going to have some fun. I had just a small 100 shot on mine and it was fun when the spray kicked in. 125 is cool, 175 will be a lot of fun!

My car is coming along well. I'm in the somewhat final stages at the moment and a lot of little things to wrap up. Trans should be back from Tick Perf. in a couple weeks. Hope to fire it up by middle of March. :)

I have not been able to try my current wet kit on the car. Only reference point I have is the old 100 shot dry kit, and I have been told that the difference between a 100 shot dry kit and a 175 wet kit is like a punch in the face  I can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can start tuning, 175 wet should make for some real excitement this summer. I'm very excited to see your start-up video in March :D
