and a great time to remind guys...it doesn't matter if you're lining up against a car that you know has been running faster than yours. Things happen and its important to keep you head up and focus. That black Impy proved that consistant focus can get you the win. He was on it big time and i fell asleep. Congrats to him and Badhawk...you guys raised the bar for Extreme Street N/A for sure! It was a pleasure lining up w/ all three of you ES/NA guys in the eliminations.

ah, so i wasn't the only one that handed over the opportunity because of reaction time? But...it's all good, had a blast. Took the kids to school this morning in the firebird after putting in the back seat. I am an Extreme Street N/A kinda guy (for the few that asked if i was going to put a bottle on it or strip it).

I did it too. Sat was just not my day for driving(0 practice all yr on a new set up will do that to you:shiner:). Me and the other red firebird were damn close as far as ET and times go. He just wacked me on the light real good.

Thanks for the compliments! I was driving the Black Impy by the way  I really didnt think i had a chance against you. We pulled out all the stops, yanking the serpentine belt off to try and gain a tenth lol!! It was definately an awesome race! The whole event was amazing and everyone i met had class and was top notch! I can't wait till next year

No I handed it over when I couldn't show up. I meant the winner took it with a .166 rt. That wouldn't have happened had I been there.

two things happened, he was on the tree, and i had a rev limit hit at the top of 2nd gear. His awesome reaction time got him the win despite i had an 11.4x to his 11.5x. Cudos to his quick reflexes. Either one of those single mistakes i could have gotten over, but both combined cost me the win, so again, anything is possible, just gotta stay focused and positive.
Also, i know i've already said it, but the top two black rides in Extreme Street are top notch!

It is My Impala SS. Geramie is a excellent bracket racer and very good friend. So he got the nod to drive at the event. If I were driving you would have put us on the trailer.

Haha I never said you'd be giving it away. You won't have to give it to me as many on here know just how deadly consistent my car really is. It's ok you get a year of glory and I'll be there next year to test how good you really are.

We had 40 cars tech in. There were more in the pits but that's all we had racing.

Did anyone record any of the weights of cars in the elimination rounds? I would like to see the weights, I think people would be shocked at the weights and ETs they were running, ie alot heavier than most people think an LT1 has to be to run well....ie the Impy in ES/NA

I never got weighed. I went through on my first qualifying past and they said they were not weighing yet. I went through after first round and they said "they haven't told us to turn them on". Did anyone else get weighed? I was disappointed because I still do not know what my car weighs.

I weighed in twice. Once during qualifying and once after the first round. After that, they had a cone in front of the scales

I weighed in twice: once at 3620 and once at 3615. I don't know why they blocked off the scale during eliminations but I can assure you if we are at BG next year that they will be open the entire time.
We will probably need a few volunteers to rotate throughout the day during eliminations to monitor the minimum weights.

with the warning at the driver's meeting about being disqualified if you didn't weigh...i almost ran over the cone by-God to get my weight recorded! Mine weighed 3505 during time trials, but closed during qualifying and eliminations i believe...as said already.

I drove up on scale during time trials and the guy just looked at me. I said "What's it weigh?". He said "We are not weighing the cars yet". When I came around during qualifying the cone was up. Was the guy at the scales one of ours or a track worker?
Formula383
09-15-2010, 01:41 PM
They were track workers. That's one thing we will need to work on next year. The KCIR staff was much more organized and helpful in the previous years and we expected the same level of assistance this year but we quickly found out that we needed more help. Sorry guys.

Sorry guys.I love weights so I want to volunteer to run the scales and check weights assuming I get to go next year, wife said I could as long as I was a spectator and I have decided not to buy an LT1 car or any other car, play with my old truck....SO, I want to be the first volunteer for 2011!

I weighted way too much anyway...I think the first time I went through it was 3550. To think I thought I wold be much closer to 3400 than 3600 shows I have a lot left to do.
The cone was put up in Qualifying and stay up for the rest of the day...I was reminded everytime to hit the scales before my run...

I weighed in at 3495 and got on the scales at least 3x. I was kinda shocked it was heavier than last yr with all the stuff I took out, although I did add a 6pt and had more gas.:shiner: Time to start looking for more junk to pull out of it.
