How fast can you run in a Vert. before you are required to have a cage for the shootout?!

NHRA says a convertible have a "roll bar" at 13.49 and quicker, 11.49 and quicker for full bodied cars. A "roll cage" has the front "halo" that runs around the front near the visors and the bars that go through the dash by the A-pillar, this isn't required till 9.99 or 135 mph. It'll be up to the track as to what they enforce for the shootout. In years past I know cars have been going fast enough to need certain items like a roll bar per NHRA rules and the track didn't say anything. It's not a huge sanctioned event so I wouldn't plan on going through an elaborate tech process.

I spoke with the track officials and they are enforcing the 13.99 rule for a role bar in a vert, so I am out for this year. :frustrated:

That sucks, but it's all in the name of safety for everyone. It'll still be a great place to spend the weekend to meet everyone and see the ONLY all LTX racing anywhere!
