It looks like a factory install. Did you notice an improvement in performance? I really like your engine bay.

I definately noticed an increase in AT LEAST my low end torque. Most people say I will feel it at the track towards the top end, but I definately felt it on the bottom. On top of that I power shifted into 2nd (like I normally did before) and I went sideways...scared the SHIT out of me cause USUALLY it only chirped 2nd...this time it broke them loose hard and it does it every time......I cant power shift 2nd on the street anymore, I have to let of the gas slightly. On the track though with slicks...oh you better believe its on! haha

Thanks for the compliments on the engine bay! It needs to be cleaned up a bit and I am working on a couple apperance things like fuel line relocation, TB plate, etc...

I need to get a new "to punish and enslave..." vinyl because that one was centered on my OLD intake setup and with this one (which is actually centered on the engine bay unlike the other) its off center now...SO I have a new one on the way to replace it. But yeah I love transformers and even though Barricade was a Mustang in the movie, that saying is just bad ass lmao.

Still working on the step-by-step write-up but its almost done! Soon y'all will see what it took to make this look good! lol

OH and for the record, I will be at Bandimere this Friday to test it out on the track, and on a Dyno Saturday to see if it actually improved my numbers or not!

Looks awsome!
Something I've wanted to do. Do you know if it works on a stock hood?

Mine is stock SLP.

It shouldnt be any different, IF NOT EASIER on a stock hood. The sheet metal would be harder to trim than the fiberglass was, but it is thinner than the fiberglass so you may have a slight bit more room than I did!

I recommend doing it to be honest. I am VERY happy with my results so far.

Birds are a bit tougher to do without a Ws6 hood but it can be done..
I did my Z over a year ago and this mod was the best $4$ mod i have done!
no current pic, heres shortly after the support was trimmed out for the lid to sit in...i need current pics

What would be better? This or a cold air intake sucking from down low?

Already have a cai but not too thrilled with the fitment, just don't want to hurt performance.

From what I have seen and heard so far, this is a little better than the CAI...the CAI has a long ways to go, and has to make 2 bends to get into the throttle body...

This is still pulling air from outside the engine bay, it is fed by the front air dam, and it has 1 turn to make before it goes into the throttle body. Plus if you do it right, you get ALOT of air going in.

I really like the look of this.I would like to get rid of the standard cold air intake I have (Moroso) and clean up the engine bay even more. Might have to look at the for sale section on LS1tech for a used LS1 air box, lid and smooth bellow.:secret:

You can use the stock Ls1 bellow, the smooth does not change performance...... Don't forget to check ebay and www.lkqonline.com (http://www.lkqonline.com) they generally have them for a good price..
