Stayed a little late last night and pulled the old mule out of the hole. I guess I can't bitch I beat on this thing for five years with almost no money in it and ran 11.71 on a dry 75 shot, not bad for stock displacement, Napa crank kit, and stock cast iron heads

Wow your engine bay looks as empty as mine :hmm: You gonna have it back together in time for the shootout?
Whats the reason for removing it? Or did I miss something...
Now, since you have it out, its the PERFECT time for new mods :)

I pulled it because of a slight rod knock and it's getting replaced with a forged 383
I just hope I can get it all together and tested before the shootout, I would hate to come just as a spectator.
Even more of a good reason to pull that motor out :)
Any details on the new 383?

Nothing too special our machine shop had a rotating assembly and we had a spare block at the shop, so he was going to put it together for a shop project car but my engine gave up the ghost first so it's going into to the Monte and hopefully making it to the shootout. I may end up running my cast iron heads for now just because funds are tight but we will see.
