i have a 1996 6 speed firebird Formula with an slp loudmouth 1 cat back and intake and i want to hear what it would sound like without the catalytic convertor. also what would it do to my car, would it make it lose power? i know the 1996 cars came with 2 cats but how would i get rid of or "gut" the cats? would i gut one or both? i know its not legal to run without cats but i just want to know what it would sound like an how to do it exactly.
thanks

don't do it with the LM1, imo its sounds like shit, especially without cats and LT's.

You won't notice much going from manifolds and with/without a cat. It might sound a tad more raspy. Get some LT's and put some ear plugs in, the LM1 will be very ignorant.

I have no sound bite, but I had a ORY (no cats) and an open 3 inch cutout at the rear (Borla muffler) and it was raspy as hell. I welded new high flow stainless cats in and now with the cutout open it sounds much better. The cats are those 4 inch OD ones withthe stainelss cores. They flow fine and I am legal for once. I guess I will have to get a recording soon.

I will see if I can get one of mine. Longtubes into a custom 3" to 4" ypipe, 4" back to a Hooker maxflow single 4" in and out and exiting at the driver side bumper tucked up and almost hidden.

popo8, I want to have my exhaust exit behind the rear just like in your vid. Is it still like that? I would like a picture of it if possible to show how I want mine done. That sound is awesome.
