I have LPP longtubes and I need to run cats...one for sound suppression, and 2, for smell suppression. :) I just moved to a historic district and I can't be pissing off the neighbors.

So anyway, I talked to LPP and he said his true dual setup will fit an lt1 with slight modifcation, but he did not know if his catted ls1 y-pipe would work the same. Someone on ls1tech suggested I buy a cheap pacesetter y-pipe and weld come cats into that. That would be fine, but will a pacesetter y-pipe slip right over LPP collectors? Kooks makes a catted y, and I'm assuming it will work with LPP's since many people claim that LPP are a copy of kooks design? It's pricey tho! I think 450 for the y.

Any other suggestions. I really don't want to hack up this pretty LPP ory to put cats in it.

I'd throw a 3" ORY on it then a highflow cat right after the y and use a o2 extension.

I did that already and it is still way loud! old 306 cam doesn't want to be tamed. It made a very slight difference. I was hoping if I got a y-pipe with 2 cats it would help some more, but then also I would have room to put a resonator in the intermediate pipe. I'm also looking for an SLP dual/dual muffler b/c I've read it's about the quietest you can get!

Right now my setup is LPP longtubes, ORY, 3" I pipe into 3" cat, SLP 2OTL muffler and tips. I wish I had not of removed the cone of silence! I guess I could fab another back up...but I never heard it with the cone in there...yanked out before I even installed the catback.

My LM1 was still pretty loud with my cam, Kooks LT's and catted y-pipe. I got tired of it being so loud. So when I went to put the LM1 on my TA, I swapped out the resonator for a Dynomax bullet. Made a world of difference, I was surprised how quiet it was.

Research upon some other y or intermediate Pipe (http://www.car-stuff.com/intermediatepipe.htm) around in the market that will fit in your lpp longtubes. Sometimes, you need to see the performance, hence also the sounds of it. But for me, I'd prefer the performance of the car and the quality of it in order to attain the good part of your car.
