I saw a lot of people over at LS1Tech really liked them. Let us know what you think once they get in and the install begins.

IIRC, they are based on the pacesetter design, but I heard that the primaries were smaller than advertised so that was the main reason I decided against them.

are the primary TUBES 1 and 5/8 or is the flange 1 and 5/8 because if the tubes are large enough you can probably port the flanges
SexyTransAm
04-08-2010, 04:51 PM
the tubes are 1 5/8. but im not really worried but it. the car aint goin to make enough power for the 1 5/8 to be a choking point

Finished up installing this set a couple weeks ago. Fitment is good. Mind were just barely grazing the steering shaft.

I got a set from ebay also. just put them on i paid 310 for them free shipping! the are the 1 5/8s also. with a 3 inch y pipe! with a made in to a 2 3/4 reducer on the end of the y pipe to hook into the stock cat back! the only problem i had was the steering shaft, i had to dent the header tube to make it fit. also there is not much room to remove the oil filter! lol... but i did notice a increes in the power and not only to metion the sound is sweet!
SexyTransAm

mine clear everything with no denting needed and can get to the filter just fine

What's the deal with the insanely mixed reviews, I've heard from a few sites now that some fit perfectly and others have a variety of fitment issues.

thats because of the diff people that make em. the guy i got mine from iv heard dont make em any more. when i was reading before i bought everyone said the LLP knock off fit like hell, and the pacesetter fit well from some sellers but not others

thanks Sexy
I've personally seen and read reviews of the headers by ebay sellers 'ap1ap2' and 'speeddaddy' and besides the usual steering shaft and k-member, those two fit good
whats weird is if you search for 'LT1 stainless headers', you get over a hundred hits and they all use the same damn photos

It's like that with any header on these cars. I have seen pacestters that fit great on one car and had problems on 2 others. The same for the hookers and any other header you look at.

Do you think these stainless steel headers are better at keeping heat out of the engine bay compared to pacesetters ceramic coated longtubes?
Im trying to decide which one I should order
SexyTransAm
02-18-2011, 01:03 AM
SS is not good at all for keeping heat out of the bay!
ItSSlowZ28
02-18-2011, 04:25 AM
so would spraying them yourself with some ceramic paint help at all?

Ok so is it better to go with Pacesetter LTs ceramic coated?

eworldsales now has stainless LT1 headers again... for almost $600

that ceramic paint isnt going to do squat...wrap em if your worried about heat. on another note, most people are over primaried with the 1.750 inch headers....alot like true dualed 3 inch exhaust.
