I called the company that sells them, they said the pp only has a clamping force of 10% over stock, so that doesn't seem that strong, who knows, don't understand why they would rate the HP level so high if it can't take it, the guy i spoke too "in a round-about way" advised me to go with another clutch like Ram/Zoom so forth, i'm always leary about these e-bay items anyways, but the price is great.

IMHO just go down to your local parts store and get a PP for an LT4 corvette and then call up Spec and order a replacement clutch disk for the specs of the car and be done with it.
Thats what I'm doing this time around anyway and also adding an aluminum flywheel. I have the spec stage 3 and love it, kinda hard to get used to but its not a DD so I can manage :)

This would be nice to do, but i've tried just getting a PP, the only one i can get is the re-mans for around 80.00, now if these are any good, i'll go that route, going the other way with a new one, you can only get the kit, now there 220.00, then you need to spend a good 175.00 for a disc., now your over 400.00 bucks, i can get a Spec 3 kit for 405.00, so wheres the savings, unless you can varify the re-mans PPs are just as good as the new ones, please let me know, otherwize your not saving anything, just piecing it together, i'm still trying to find a new factory flywheel with no luck, just a re-man, but i'm still leary there, because most likely they are thinner then a new one, that spells less clamping force.

Yeah I hear ya. I have an autozone reman flywheel right now and am putting down ~425 to the wheels and spinning to 7000 rpms and haven't had any problems. I'm also using a used pressure plate and that needs to be changed this winter. If I have to I will get a new flywheel (aluminum) or another one from autozone for $55 then get an LT4 pressure plate for $125 and get new pucks on my disk for $60 so then I'll have a $400 clutch setup for a little over $200 :) I love the way the Spec stage 3 feels, a little chatter but it grips like a f*cker, I have actually chirped the tires shifting into 4th not power shifting, just running it hard :D

Well i'm getting the flywheel for 57.00, i just can't afford a Spec, also found out there not offering a reman PP for the LT1, so maybe i need to check for an LT4, never thought of that, but i'll still be out about 300.00 if a reman PP is 125.00, plus a disc for 175.00, i've decided i'll most likely get the Gripforce clutch kit, i can get it for 300.00 shipped, i did some research & got some possitive feedback on these clutches, even the Stage 1, now after looking i came acrossed this clutch kit, but there's no feedback on them, its called EZ clutch, they have a stage 3 puck for 299.00, but i found a guy selling his "new in box" for 200.00, i would try it if it had + feedback, but i think its too new, don't need anything blowing apart, the Gripforce seems like a good unit for the price.
Just a note, i called autozone, the LT1 & LT4 reman PPs are no longer available, so unless you know of anyone else that has them, let me know.

Got the old clutch out, abviously the guy lied to me, he told me it was a Ram, well turns out it was stock, the disc read GM AC-Delco. It looks like the PP has a crack in the houseing, both surfaces are pretty fried too, no cracks, but lumpy & burned. The car has 158K, i'm surprized it held as good as it did after installing the DRs & 4K launches, one time i left at 5K, it has 4.11s & a moser 9".
Just an update on that EZ clutch, come to find out (after i called F1-Racing) that its there clutch, just a different color PP, so its the same as the Gripforce, just Yellow, got a discount of 10% through Paypal, so the total was 188.00 shipped, fywheel will cost 61.00 with tax, so i'm only out 250.00, i'll see how it holds up & feels.
