I am hearing a hissing sound, it sounds like coming from the egr. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I'm going to check the two vacuum lines running to it tomorrow or Friday, does anyone else have any other suggestions?

My problem wound up being a loose plug wire but I still haven't tracked down the hissing sound. Still sounds like it's coming from the egr but car is running fine!

ought the EGR.

block of plate or cut that mother off and weld it.

Thats not exactly legal in most areas, and it probably would throw a code. You could get it tuned out, though.

I just got my egr block off kit from UMI. Block off plate installed, and no issues. I did however go into Tunerpro and turn off the egr codes, so I'm not sure if it would have thrown one w/o tuning adjustments.
