is there anything specific you need to know? its not too much different than any other long tube install. I'd write one up for you but your doing yours a couple weeks before me. I'm doing mine spring break. Mid March.

well just what are the basics and should i try and get them both in from the bottom? and is it easy to put the block offs on while the intake is still on the car.

I put some on my car not to long ago. I used the ORY not a x pipe. A few tips I can give for a easy install would be:
spray every bolt with pent. oil under the hood and under the car real good and let is soak a day or two.
Remove the alt. and stearing shaft.
Buy yourself a good set of locking header bolts and a good set of gaskets.
You will need to extend the o2 sensors for the front, and eliminate the two rear if your going w/ a off road pipe. They did make 02 eliminators but not sure where to get them. The rear two will need to be tuned out if you cant get the eliminator kit. Check eng. light will be on if not.
When you go to put the header bolts in, bolt them in the head, and then remove to make sure you dont have gunk or strip the bolts.
If you have a lift to use, it makes this job alot more easy. I had the car up and down 15 times atleast.
Buy some band clamps to hook up the collectors to the x pipe. They are way better than a regular exaust clamp.
If you eliminate your air and egr system, you will need to buy the block off plates to cover the holes on the intake. You can cut the egr valve off and block it, and you can cut the air tube end off and weld it shut also.
If you have any questions, let me know. Your gona love your new mods.

They go in from the bottom if you remove the stearing shaft. Yes you can get to the back of the intake w/ it in the car. Its tight back there but it can be done. You have to do it in the blind unless you can get a mirror back there. I have a set of tpi block of plates ill sell you if you need some. I bought them and they didnt come in the mail yet when I put the headers on. PM me if you want them. I think they were 20-30 buck, 20 plus shipping and there yours. They are nice and thick, and have tpi engraved in the tops of them.

what njrextreme said, i got my o2 sims from afterthoughtsauto.com
$80 shipped for 2 i believe.
drivers side was the easiest by far. pass was the bitch side. i used a hoist, and it was a godsend. if you buy better gaskets, get the perceys high temp ones, they're awesome.
i've been using the stock bolts for a year and a half, been good. only a few of them have backed out a bit. as long as you keep on tightening them you're golden. carry a 3/8 wrench in my glovebox.

also i used some never seize on my locking bolts. Be very careful of the spark plugs. I replaced mine while doing the install. A buddy of mine dropped his header down when trying to bolt it up and snapped off 3 plugs on the pass side. I also found it easier to route the pass side header up from the bottom by removing the starter. I did mine on tall jack stands. It was a PIA but def worth it. Also invest in some sort of ratchet with a swivil head, some short extensions, and some universals. If you use the stage 8 locking bolts that have a Allen head to make it easier to start them in the head. Finaly either pick up or make a short socket for the spark plugs incase you ever need to replace one after the headers are in.

so the o2 sims, i wouldnt need those if i get it tuned out right, by pcmforless or somewhere thats equivalent? have you heard anything bad about the mr.gasket header bolts? only reason i ask is because i have a buddy that works at a auto parts store and i can use his discount.

would you say that its safe to first install the headers then put the spark plugs in? and i've heard good things about those stage 8 bolts, so from the bottom for both will get it done? and the load should be alright i have 2 other friends helping me for a nominal fee lol (food/beer).

i dont know if pcmforless can tune them out actually, i think they do, but not 100% sure. i extended the first 2, simmed out the last. havent heard anything bad at all bout the mr. gasket ones, but they're the same as the ones that come with the kit. if you really want good bolts, get the split lock ones, your buddys discount will help out with those for sure.

I did it just that way with the plugs , BUT it is a PIA without a good socket and open end wrench to get the plugs in when the headers are done. Are you sticking with stock routing of the wires? IF so invest in some fire socks and a zip ties. I eventually went OTVC out of frustration.

Don't you have to do this regardless?

Don't let bluebeasst see this  I used the stock bolts on my Edelbrock TES headers because I knew I wasn't going to have them for a while and the flange size is the same as the stock manifolds, but I'd recommend stepping up to a decent 1" bolt when installing pacesetters. I went with Percy's Split-Lock 3/8x16 1" stainless locking header bolts. The came the other day.

My rear o2's were tuned out before the Edelbrock TES's went on. Why spend $80 on simulators when you can get a mail order tune for not much more.

I dunno, tuning out the O2's doesnt seem all that great of an idea unless you have it tuned with a Wideband, and you have one installed all the time to read where you're at. Do the OBDII cars have 2 "upstream" and a single "downstream" O2 sensor? If so, I'd leave leave the upstream 02 in, so you can have accurate readings in closed loop, then tune out the downstream.
Its not a Pacesetter header install but it is one for the Jet Hots / Hooker LT's.

hey thanks that gave me the proper direction and i think i can even leave out a couple of those steps since that header design didnt allow him a little bit easier fitments in the engine bay. really appreciate it.

i didnt buy o2 extensions. I just cut the wire off the old o2s i had in the stock y since they werent old and extended it that way. Works perfect and saved myself 80 bucks. Other than that i didnt c any say remove the oil filter. Its what i had to do to get my drivers side in there. Pass side slid in by the grace of god. i dunno how it fit so easy.

The difference was more audio(worth every cent alone right here) than anything for me when I installed my Pacesetters on an otherwise bolt-on LT1. In fact, I dare say it was a tad slower on the high end according to my seat of the pants dyno. A few more mods and a tune woke her right up though!

I'm going to try and get it knocked out this weekend, but I have a feeling I'll run into other obligations that need addressed.
For example, I think my dad needs my help moving his old entertainment center... He sold it to a friend of his.

I've got some time coming up around Spring Break to finish it up if I don't get done. I won't be able to get the y-pipe finished this weekend anyway.
