Anyone using an e-cutout? When I was still single exhaust I had the manual ones, and just uncapped it at the track. Now I really don't know if I want the hastle of taking 2 caps off before the races begin. Any life expectancy on the motors? I hear that is the only down side to them. Esp if the motor dies with them open

i have a "proto-type" QTP from a long time ago. It is SLOW, but works fine. I have it in my Borla where the plate would go near the muffler. I am gonna replace it when it does finally die cause i like the ability to "tune" the sound. Not sure if i go QTP again, prob just get a decent one cause it is open most of the time anyway.

dmh cutouts are good, they also offer a 4 year warranty.

I see the dual setup on DMH's website, and for $360 it isnt terrible. About the same pricing as getting the QTP's and buying the Summit cutouts, so that is definately a step in the right direction. I had mine located where the cat "used" to be when I was single exhaust, and will prolly do a similar setup with duals...just gotta clear the frame, right at the end of the long tubes.
Thanks for the help, that was a fast ass response time from you guys

I've seen those bofore. I dunno if I'm a fan of it or not yet. I'd have to let it grow on me lol. I ended up heating up the header on the driver side, and bent the header down about an inch or so, and I havent had an issue yet. I can always bend it down a little bit more, but gettng the torch to keep 4 sections of the tubes hot is a fun challenge. WTB 2 torches lol.

DMH is the way to go. I was on my third QTP and gave up. I will say that their customer service was decent. Not too much to ship it back or get a replacement motor for $35.

Someone stated 4 year warranty on the DMH, yeah try getting it warranteed will be a song and dance!
I have been dealing with QTP for 3 years now and absolutely have the best product out there, most people that have problems with the QTP is that they instal them to where they can be easily hit by road debris, speed bumps etc...

Dunno, I'm still kinda digging the DMH. A few of the others are nearly $450-$500 for the same thing. Not sure what features they are running that makes them that expensive, but I can't see any that are THAT amazing.

DMH really do back their products, they have always been able to satisfy me.
My first set of DMH I bought was used, one motor went out after a few months and they still replaced it for me

I love my dmh, hell he even warrantied out one for me that had 1/4" ground off the bottom of it from my camaro(it was LOW). He sent me a 100% complete new cutout, no charge or anything. I've ran dmh's on almost all my performance cars for the last 6-7 years, only one I would ever run.

I'm kin of a fan of the ones that have a manual cable in the cocpit, i guessi just like how when you open it then it blocks the flow to the muffler as well idk what to get... im scared that an eletric one will sounds like a horrible ex. leak idk do they just sounds open headerish or whta? lol im sorry for the dumb ?

just got my DMH and i love it, ^to me single cutouts sound more straight pipeish then open headerish, but if someone had dual cutouts on the y pipe, i imagine that sounds pretty mush just like open headers, either way it definetly doesnt sound like an exhaust leak, hope that helps

Well I have them mounted about a foot past the end of the long tubes. The frame on the driver's side was a little in the way, so we ended up hacking up the cutouts a bit and getting em to work.

I was looking for this topic, glad it got brought back up. Quick question: Will the DMH mount up to any cutout? Or is there a specific DMH cutout that I need to buy along with the motor assembly? I already have a cutout on my car, and if I don't need to spend the extra $40 on it then I'm not going to. Thanks.

I bought a used Qtp 3" for my borla to put in where the plates go. I must say its one of the best mods on my car where i can have the adjustability to change the sound of the exhaust by the flick of a switch so i can have it tame or nasty. So far so good and ive been using it alot in the past couple days since i put it in.
